I have updated my post in this thread to include all the boxes I have gotten so far...I've picked up 8 so far.

So far I have discovered that the price and level of the box are dependent on the zone you are in. Aryth Spire boxes are always 4500g and level 45, Garden of Magistrate Boxes are always 3500g and level 35. I still need to find boxes from Faerina's Shrine, Enigmatic Grotto, and The Forgotten Tomb to see the price and level of those boxes.

From my preliminary findings, I think the gold you get in the box stays about the same, no matter the level of the box. If you are only interested in essences, it might be the best to farm for boxes in lower level areas since those area's boxes are cheaper and you can find essences in level 25 boxes.

When I get a little more information, should I post a player guide about the peddler and his boxes?

I think that would be a good idea. :3 I'm sure I couldn't have been the only one to have had misgivings about buying from him, and I'm sure there's plenty of people to come who are curious about what he's got, whether they didn't buy from him, or whether they did buy from him and didn't get anything good. He's being pretty elusive for me lately, now that I WANT to buy from him. x.x

I wonder if there is a better drop rate for essences or purple essences for higher level boxes. I feel like there should be some kind of advantage for paying more. I'll keep reporting any drops I get, and maybe we can all work out some drop rates from that.

For 2,500g I got a faelora essence at Faerina's Shrine.

Ok, I still don't have enough information on the peddler to start a player guide...but I probably will within the next week. I still need cost and level of the boxes in a couple more locations.

Um, I'd like to use information other people have gathered, but don't want to use it without permission, so I guess I'm asking permission. Everyone who says it is OK to use their data, I will use. Anyone who asks me not to or doesn't reply, then I won't use theirs.

Totally okay with me. :3 I'm editing my post back on the first page everytime I manage to bump into him. I got an eggling the second time, and once it hatches, I'll put what kind of pet I get from it, and what gene/mutations it has, if any.

You're free to use any data I post. Though I'm not sure if you can use the last one I posted since I didn't get the level of the box. ^^;

I should be able to use it eventually. If I'm right, all the boxes in a zone are are the same level, I just need to go to the same area and find a couple of boxes to confirm that the levels in the area don't fluctuate and then I should know the level of your box.
