I can't really think of another viable option. We can't alter the mane since it's part of the base and I think it would look even more awkward if the reins like... molded around the hair or something. If it went over the mane, it also would conflict with the mane mutations that the Qitari has and that wouldn't work.

Ahhh, I understand. Though maybe if it went up a couple pixles and kind of vanished into the mane?
Eh, non artists like me shouldn't criticize. I'm not breeding for mutations anyway, but for all the lovely genes you guys have put into that species! Quagga is so beautiful.

No, that wouldn't really be feasible. With changes, it might be possible for the base mane to make it look fine. But it wouldn't look right with the the locks or ice mane mutations.
