That means that a "Themed Pet" has been dyed or had its color palette updated! Themed pets are identified by either having a Gold Star with purple letters above its genes (like this guy) and these are called "Tagged" pets, which can be exclusive or tamed. "Purebred" pets, like the boy I gave you, have a blue star and blue letters. These are made when you breed two of the same theme together.
His parents were dyed, so if you reverted him he would end up looking like this:
Basically its just a way to get a themed pet to either their newest iteration of their color palette or to change them back to how they were before they were dyed.
Oh, also just realized that you talked about how the breeding grounds showed that your offspring from your pets didnt have any genes while the parents did.
This is because Sylestia genes runs on Punnett Square logic! So basically, if one parent has a visible in G1, for example, and the other doesn't it is guaranteed to be a carried trait (which you cant see on the pet but can be passed down to offspring. These can be seen via genetic testing, and show up green.
There are also such things as hidden genes, where if both parents had a gene in a slot but, for example, one had gene AA and the other had BB, the child would get AB. This is also only shown by genetic testing the pets, but even without genetic testing the offspring could end up getting A or B from the parent with AB. This is because trait dominance is alphabetical.
(If any of this doesnt make sense, I apologize I'm not very used to explaining to people haha)

I am going to have to be very careful not to hit that button then lol, I love the peacock look hes got going on. You have so many pretty pets! I cant wait to have pretty pets of my own like that, im so excited to learn this game.
And I understand, I loved punnett squares in school, makes me sad about my two though because one is slot one, the other slot two, but they will all end up being butterflies and they still are pretty colors even if they are on the plain side. I am just super happy I went with mutation.....but maybe if I did two markings the babies would have had something and the bird wings.....or maybe they wouldn't have had any wings at all, most likely not.
Oh, you mentioned rambling a bit back, dont worry about it, I am also guilty of rambling about things so I dont mind at all!
