No, it's okay!! I asked, so I don't mind the whole spiel. I am also thankful you were willing to type it all out for me!! ;a; I think I get it now! Also with looking in the codex, it's coming together in the ol' noggin now.

I'm probably going to go down the rabbit hole of things lookiing through the codex now lmao

When you're on the generator and there's those red traits, is that the themed stuff that you can't get anymore? Or is the (retired) themed just meaning you can't get that exact combo anymore?

Now that I know there's breeding fun and genes moreso than I thought, I'm all kinds of excited. I'm a simple man with simple pleasures of building the perfect Sylesti and whatever other creature I want lmao.

Perfect - I was afraid that I typed out too much and didn't word it good enough so that it's going to be confusing rather than helpful, heh :'D

I assume you mean the red asterisk things in the Generator?
They're either traits that are from the Cash Shop or some that are seasonal like the Valentine Lace or Spring Blossoms. Some of them are also rare traits from an endgame zone - the Lost Grove. They're rarely encoutered on wild Sylestis there and need a special extractor to be put on other themes / pets.

The retired theme only means you can't get the exact combo of colours + traits (if majestic) anymore, exactly!

Yessss
All the breeding for pretty pets and the simple need of getting *even more* pretty pets.
For me it's also the fun of collecting all themed pets of species I like and occasionally getting them to 6 visible traits :')

And ofc! I'm always happy to help and it's even more fun if someone asks questions about topics I love myself! :D

Yes! The asterisks in the generator.

Ah, okay. That's what I assumed. Everything is coming together now. Oh yeah. Seeing things real clear. At least as clear as my see-too-many-color eyes can lmaooo.

I appreciate you answering my questions and being so nice ;a; I was nervous to make a post and reply. I wasn't sure if it'd be a cold crowd lmao. But, now I see it's pretty cool! And the more I look around, the more I see that everyone seems pretty chill.

I have a feeling I might end up the same kinda way. I don't know if I'll go for full theme, but I'm definitely gonna go for projects. Getting some dope designs and babies. ;A; I've already found myself pretty addicted to this site, so I imagine it's only going to be moreso.

Oops - too many themes, too many colors? o3o

I'm glad to hear that and anytime! Remember when I was new and everyone was so kind and helpful. I don't think I've ever connected to a community the way I did here? Might be because the site is rather small and you get to know the active players quite fast compared to sites with thousands of users.

Well... Projects are super fun to work on but also require a lot of patience and time. Feel free to share your project ideas whenever you come up with them, I'd love to see!
Going on a theme hunt will also be quite challenging looking at that you would've to buy most of the ones that are already retired - especially Ryoris get pricey very, very fast since they're a Fabled Species and also rather popular.
Lunes will probably be one species that is way easier to collect, there's just a few people collecting them and most sell them as soon as they end up with one owo

So if you do the whole theme collector road those might be the easiest to get your hands on

Yesss, join the ranks of people who never really log off \o/
I for sure am one of them, even tho I mostly just sit around, sort my stables, breed too many eggs and look through the forums, hehe

I love color vomit, man. My eyes apparently see more color than most, but that doesn't stop me from wanting the most headache inducing colored thing out there. My favorite aesthetic is gothic vaporwave. A beautiful contradiction, if I do say so myself. It's mostly because I love the look of vaporwave and the look of gothic stuff. Might as well try to meet myself in the middle lmao. Also a small suffering from my scene days in middle school whoops.

Yeah, I guess I never really realized how small this site is. FR was small when I began. There'd only be, like, 100 users on at a time. Now it's, like, 5k. It's wild. The only other small site I've been on was Kupika (idk if its even a thing anymore). I was one of the OG top dogs and everyone knew me and my friends on there. But it's long since been abandoned lmao. I do enjoy smaller sites though. Like, yes, I want everyone to be on this site, but at the same time, gotta love the tight knitness of it.

How could you not love the baby moths ;A; they're so cute. I typically am not a fan of bugs, but butterflies and moths are my exceptions lmao. They're just so pretty ;A; I also like mantises. Sounds like that's where I'll start then ehehehhe their loss.

I've already spent so much time at my computer the past few days. I'm gonna be thinking about this place when I go to work lmao.

Oh yes, vaporwave!! A very, very good aesthetic for sure - I do love that too. The colours can be quite the headache if looked at for too long :'D
I don't think I've heard about gothic vaporwave before but after I googled it I'm a fan now :'D
Very pleasant to look at, I do love black as a base colour and bright highlights or soft pastels on it, so this is just :chefkiss:

Yup. While it's nice to see a site grow and gain popularity it also takes away from the community feeling I think? Since there's just so many names and you hardly see the same name more than once on bigger sites.

Especially the female baby moths nibbling on the leaf?? Precious. Just not a fan of most traits so I'm not a moth main, hehe :'D
Praying Mantis look so majestic - I also do love colourful spiders tbh, so we're not that far off when it comes to vibes :D

Thinking about all the pretty pets and colours while you're working ... Not the worst as long as it doesn't take over or endangers you because you're loosing focus xD

Also:
Sneaky namechange.

I didn't even really know it *was* an aesthetic and thought I made it up until I googled it myself. I also call it 'neon gothic'. I just love the contrast ;A;

It definitely does. Though, sometimes, the big wig names stay that way, but then it's hard for other's to maybe become the same kinda way and it does lose the personal touch of interaction.

I love orchid mantises. They're so lovely ;a; ooof, I don't blame u with spiders. I struggle to look at them sadly. T^T like i know they do good and they're amazing, but I can't look at them cause they give me the jeebies. It's the legs. Makes me feel weird. But, I know they work hard and are good, I just let them be. Or make someone else take care of them for me. But I won't let them kill them bc I know they're good, my brain just sucks lmaooo. Also, I get that. Some of the jeans in the moff's could be better, but there's some pretty cool ones. the little grub with the leaf gets my heart lmao.

Truue. I work at a place where I'm lowkey constantly in danger if I'm not careful, but it's fiiiine. Nothing I'm not used to lmaaooooo.

ehehehhe. I forgot to mention it. I was just playing the story and them saying 'thank you thineriddler' was just not it so i decided to change it to an actual name so they can address me a little better O.O

The contrast is indeed what makes it the best - really let's the colors pop out!

Agreed, yes. People who've been around for a long time will always be recognized I guess but as someone new that might also feel very intimidating to try and reach out to others. I've had that feeling here too but it quickly went away :)

Orchid Mantis look so pretty o3o I always wondered how nature decided to make some animals an aesthetic themselves and slammed all the pretty colors on them
Spider leg movement is something that grosses out many people, I can fully understand that. To me it is kind of mesmerizing but I also wouldn't want any spiders in my home - I always use a Glas and a piece of paper to bring them out, never understood why some people just smack them since it's them who make sure your neighborhood has less gnats and flies and all ;A;

You better make sure that your fingers and all other limbs stay where they belong to >:c

Edit: Grub is indeed such a nice looking trait!

That's always a nice relief though. When the big wigs are pretty cool and down to earth. I always get nervous and then typically find out can be pretty cool. All that anticipation anxiety and whatnot. oof

I can see how it can be mesmerizing. I just blame it on my trypophobia. It's apparently like...a prey instinct. Cause spots and stuff were typically what predators looked like way back when. Spots = danger. And I'm assuming it's the same for spider legs. It would make sense, at least. Guess I got that weak brain that's livin' in the past lmao.

Though, as long as someone else takes care of it, I'm fine though. I just can't get near them or look at them long. But I also don't want them hurt/dead because it's not their fault that my brain just sucks lmao. They just tryna vibe and eat while helping us in the process. Who am I to disturb that? ahaha

Regal jumping spiders are good starting point on getting more comfortable around spiders in general I think except the females can be a bit spotted so I'm not sure if that'd bother you. They're extremely cute. I've seen videos of people who keep them as pets. Oh, also videos of peacock jumping spiders doing their dance is a lot of fun, too.

I used to be phobic of bees and wasps myself but now a part of me wishes I could go back to school to try to do conservation work with them. Ah well. If only I hadn't gotten over my fears this late. I've been working instead of making a garden that provides habitat. Solitary species of bees and wasps are my primary insect interest though I like most insects in general.
