I think this idea has some potential, but definitely needs some rules to go along with it. I can see it getting overloaded with dishwater pets no one wants.I think pets entered into the adoption center can only stay there for a week before getting released. I think a month is too long frankly since a lot of newbies tend to mass breed and therefore would end up overloading this feature with pets no one wants.

Also I think the pets would need to be sold for a minimum of 500 gold. Selling them for free doesn't really make sense to me. We're already having an issue of nice pets being sold for super cheap and it messes with the economy so having the adoption pets sold for free would kind of make it worse. Maybe its like a minimum of 500 for the pet, and prices sort of go up or down depending on traits, theme, etc. This would still make the pets cheap, but no so cheap it messes things up. Also whatever the pet sells for would go back into the economy instead of to the original owner.

The only thing that is really holding me back from wanting this feature is the discourse that could potentially come with it. Releasers and non releasers have been fighting since I can remember, and I feel like this feature will cause an even bigger rift between them. I can see it now, people would be attacking users who choose to release their pets instead of putting it up for adoption. I really do believe this is why this feature hasn't been added. We really don't need more fighting over this issue.

The idea is good. If it were to be added I would probably use it. But I would hate to see this feature cause more hate in the community.

Like someone in the earlier comments mentioned, free adoption (with a timed mechanic so you can't just grab things over and over) can't really hurt the economy. There's nothing stopping someone from putting something up for 1 gold right now, it won't make a difference if it goes for free on another part of the site.

I also feel like the discourse with releasers and non-releasers is kinda a bit much to expect from such a mechanic because, even if the mechanic does end up costing money if its ever implemented, there's nothing stopping releasers from also using it to build up their release hoard for free/less gold than from the market. The only way someone would know if someone is taking pets and releasing them is if they buy the pets directly from the person and that person checks or if the person is outwardly announcing that they're mass releasing stuff.

Thank you for your opinion, but I think it's better if the pets are free. The whole reason I wanted to make this suggestion is because I struggled, finding pretty pets when I first started. I just want to make pets easier to access to newer players. The whole reason I breed pets as much as I do. Is to make pets easier to get a hold of. For those who release and for those who just want pets. I would be more than honored to have an easier way to dish out pets to people. Without having to keep up the a forum.
