Selkie's fur bunched at the Crest being called a boat, I can do that. I'll pull you up.
He throws a rope to them.


"Trust me to get us through it.''

(Did I type boat?? ....Darn. I didn't mean to do that.)

Locke tested the rope, then proceeded to climb, Aries following suit.

Scope's feathers ruffed up a bit, but he gave a nod anyway. "Yes sir."

Selkie pulls on the rope to help pull them up. He was the only one on the deck at the time.


Nathanial watches the storm, "The only chance we have since we're this close to tie down the sails and have at least two others watching for ice build up and water leakage."

Chapalangi spoke up. "I'll look for leaks."
"And me and Percy will handle the ice watch." Scope added.

Locke stepped up onto deck and smiled at Selkie. "Ahoy there Laddie. It's been a minute, aye?"

"Yes it has Locke. I'm sorry about the prediciment though," Selkie speaks, "as you can see the hull isn't nipped but we're stuck."


Percy runs off to check for ice buildup.

"Alright you know your jobs then."

Diablo gave a quick thumbs up before he vanished in a puff of shadow...reappearing back on the shoreline of the island.With a big deep sigh he sat down in the sand..

Scope gave a firm nod and made his way over to the other side of the boat to check for ice.

Locke let out a sigh. "That's good news. The ship'd be in quite a bit o' touble if it was nipped; not sure how much the hull could take. Aye. So, Ah'm guessing this is yer first time sailin' in icy waters?"

Selkie nods once, "Unforently yes it is."


Nathanial navigates through the outline of the storm. The ice came down hard on the hull and the mast. Percy helps scrape off the ice.

Scope assisted as best as he could, darting from place to place as quick as he could to claw ice off the deck with his talons and clear it off the deck.

Locke glanced to the side briefly. "Hm. Alright, Ah'll tell ye now. First rule of navigatin' icy waters is to not travel through icy waters unless absolutely nessecary. But if you must, passin' through ice ain't at all like passin' through something like a reef. The ice moves with an obsinate flow, and ye should never try ta move against it, but instead move with it. That means ye need ta think ahead and be patient, aye?"

(Yes, I am reading about ice navigation as we do this.)

Selkie nods once not wanting to get lectured tried to explain, "Locke may I say something real quick? I went with the ice and got stuck here when I got caught in an ice storm. That storm got me stuck here and the freezing water didn't help."

Percy hacks at the ice with whatever he can get his hands on.
Nathanial sniffs the air, "Hold on tight mates we got the worst coming."
At that Marcos and Percy pale.
