As you put flowers into your hair, River glomped over and began fussing with it, making a beautiful floral arrangement and then herding you to the mountain. Again, there was the steep path to the top of the mountain and a somewhat flatter road to a gaping hole somewhere in the middle of the mountain.

Iist backed up to rejoin Focus and Uje. "What is he doing, Focus? And how do you know him?"

You both bow respectfully and back away into the crowd. "So, do you plan on actually meeting the mages?" Haxenth whispers.

"can I?"

"Well, I'm not going to judge you as you are now, although you're young and only a witch's apprentice, which would make you weak. But maybe, you could be strong." It eyes you with a skeptical eye. "I am going to let my mana loose on an attack. If you can block it, perhaps you shall be strong enough to hold my presence. Are you ready?"

"Simple. Being the mage Lord of dragons, some mind reading is the least of my problems. Now, kindly explain yourself."

He looks at you. "Some skills I cannot teach, and only you can acquire them by yourself. In truth, I am very weak and all I do is magic, using power supplied from my orb." He lifts it up. "I'm really a nobody."

She hissed. "I know him from a past I do not wish to be reminded about. He is finishing his summonings, and watch if you want." The mage chants some more and clicks his fingers, the sigils floating around him soon faster and faster into a whirlwind kind of thing, before being sucked into the pentagram.

"Well, why not?" Haxenth pauses. "They possibly could help scry for the portal, you see. Do you want to, though?"
