Ace chuckled, "You could try," He joked forgetting that Sharkfin could kill him if he really wanted to, "I don't die easily though."

He ruffled Aces' hair gently. "Oh hush, I know you don't go easily. And for that, I'm glad. I don't want anyone taking someone else away from me." His voice became a bit softer at the end.

Ace gave him a sheepish grin, "I understand, what if I told you I knew a way to turn night flares into normal dragons? I mean... it probably won't be that useful, but..." He trailed off, going silent.

Sharky's eyes lit up with curiosity and, a rare thing for him, faint hope. "What?"

"Well... I'm not sure if it'll work, but... I think if I turn into my third form I think I might be able to get rid the the dark part of them. I'm not sure if I'll be able to shift, but my sister can. So we could maybe give it a try," He said not looking Sharkfin in the eyes, not wanting to see the hope that where probably in them.

He noticed how Ace didn't look him in the eyes, and the hope dwindled a bit. "... You don't have to if you don't want to, I understand if you don't want to shift forms."

"It's not that. It's just I can barely control my second form... if I try to shift, I'm afraid I'll..." He trailed off, doubt amd uncertainty shining in his eyes, along with fear.

He cupped Ace's cheek, giving him a smile despite how the hope faded away from his eyes. "Hey, that's alright. Don't worry about it, we don't have to do anything. My family isn't being hurt, I can try to find something else, alright? I will, even if it takes twenty three more years."

Ace looked sad, his eyes starting to get teary and he looked like he was going to cry, "But I c-can't help, again. Bec-cause I'm so weak-k."

"Ey, no. You are not weak, I do believe you're the same guy that took out a Shadow Stalker. Dude, you are far from weak. Don't feel obligated to get into my "family issues" alright?" He said firmly, but his voice was still kind.
