Atur sealed the cave entrance, letting the hole at the top of the cave provide light and a bit of oxygen. The small cracks everywhere also helped get oxygen so that they wouldn't suffocate.

Damen protected his kids with a sharp knife that had serrated edges and he had tipped it with a very safe poison that he knew the cure for. He stationed himself ready for anything

Damen thought of somehow finding Vix and Ocu or maybe Atur and even maybe Iko so that they could find a way to make even tunnels to the different caves.

Damen tried his best to train Runeta but she seemed more interested in herbology than fighting but Scar was over eager to fight
