Iist sighed. "Yeah, but we made it this far. I wouldn't even have met you if I wasn't brave enough to ask who you were. What if we end up missing something because of the risk?" She went to pet Uje. "I don't mean to confuse bravery with recklessness... But I do want to explore a little more, despite the dangers. Then we can leave."

She ignored the mirror and walked on ahead deeper into the foreboding forest.

You trudge through the forest... it was getting darker by the second, as if it was turning into nighttime. But your biological clock told you it was still daytime. What was going on? You hear eerie music from ahead.

Iist slows her pace when she heard faint music from afar. "Do you hear that, you guys?" she asked her companions. She continues forward cautiously towards the music.

Focus and Uje nodded. Uje's eyes... seemed a bit blank after hearing the music. You head towards the music and hide behind a rock as you see a person in a cloak in the middle of a glowing pentagram. There is no sign of where the music is coming from.

Iist held onto Uje's head, petting his muzzle gently while quietly watching from behind the rock, wondering what sort of ritual the person seemed to be performing.

"It's no use hiding." The person, a male who was about as old as you were, as you could gather from his voice, said quite flatly. "You can come out now." He was not looking or speaking in your direction, but it creepily seemed like his words were directed at you.

Iist got up from her hiding spot and walked out from behind the rock. "Sorry. But I mean no harm." She walked closer to the pentagram, a few inches outside of its glowing edge. "What are you doing in here? I heard this forest is very dangerous."

I'd like to continue, I meant to reply awhile ago, I most likely tempted to reply but forgot to press "Post Reply" :/
But anyway though, this was the last reply I found:
"Yes. I am the Mage Lord. You, Ailsa are on a quest, are you not?"

She had to take a moment of thought before responding. "I suppose, I'm on a quest to improve and become a great mage if that cont as something. And I may set another goal I set along the way. But until then, that is my only quest"
