"Kaladin don't ask what you don't want to know," Selkie replies, "The mirror was cursed by someone powerful perpaphs the river queen or worse. The mirror promises the hopeful what they want most at a price that they can't pay so it makes a deal such as finding the lost piece of the mirror which ends up trapping the person in the mirror."
