Ash pulls her closer, his lips freezing against hers and a chill could be felt through his shirt. After a moment, he pulled away. "The kitsune is right. We need to go get Ethan"

She nods, looking at him curiously, unintentionally tilting her head to the side cutely.

A smile crosses his lips before he goes serious again. "Let's go."

She leads the way, her bow and arrow ready as she walks through the Trod.

He follows.

Right as they step through, there's a piercing crack and an enraged shriek. Everything went white. As soon as they could see again, Ash stared around in horror. A twisted landscape stretched before them, barren and dark and with the sky a sickly yellow-gray. Literal mountains of rubble dominated the land that were composed of old technology that nobody used anymore. Some of the piles were on fire, burning with a thick, choking smog. A hot wind howled through the wasteland, stirring the dust.

The kitsune doesn't seem affected by the area.

"Disgusting..." She snaps.

"This is the Nevernever," Ash muttered, his voice grim. "Somewhere in the Deep Tangle, if I had to guess. No wonder the wyldwood is dying."

"It's horrible." She whispers, glaring at all the ruble.
