"He's adorable!" She laughs, wanting to pet it but not sure if it'd be safe.

"She." Conner said, and tried again to untangle her from him. Haka kept licking his face. "Ack! Haka!" he said, and finally setting her on the ground again.

"And you can pet her. As long as she sits still." he turned to the wolf. "Understood Haka? Okay. Now sit." Surprisingly, the wolf sat, smiling the wolf smile, tongue hanging out, and tail wagging hard, thumping the ground.

She chuckles, petting her with her right hand. The entire time she had kept her left hand in her pocket, it was surprisingly easy for her to do most things without her left hand showing but it roused suspicion in those who noticed.

Conner noted the left hand, but shrugged it off... For now.

"I found her and another wolf one day next to a road. Both had gotten hit - the other was already dead - and she was just a little pup, so, even against my family's complaints, I took her in. She's become almost too attached." Conner chuckled as the little wolf started to lick Dimond's hand.

"She likes you." Conner said.

"That's sweet of you. My parent's used to rescue abandoned birds, my mother was a vet. One time she found an eaglet, she was able to keep it. It was my birthday present last year. He's somewhere around here." She muttered, looking up and looking at the branches.

Conner instantly grabbed Haka by her shoulders. "Um.." he started, but Haka was already barking her head off at a passing bird, and Conner barely was holding her to keep her from attacking the unsuspecting bird.

"Don't worry, I've got it." She unfolds her dark wings, jumping back onto the tree and lifting off, she grabs the bird, making it screech in surprise but it calms down once it notices it's only Diamond. She lands with the bird in her arms, keeping it close to her chest to stop Haka from getting it. "This is Crow." She says, the bird looks right at Connor, glaring.

Conner smiles hesitantly at the bird. Could birds glare? If so, this one was winning the contest. If only the glare wasn't aimed at him...

"Hi Crow." he said, wings unfurling unintentionally, indicating fight and flight mode. Haka was growling furiously, fur raised. She looked like she was about to kill the bird, as if that would protect Conner.

It screeches then flies off, surprising Diamond. "Oh, he made a nest." She mutters, nodding to the tree with the giant nest in it.



She continues to keep her left hand in her pocket.

Conner shrugged, and pulled Haka back again. "So.. This is really rude, but why do you keep your left hand in your pocket?" he was just curious.
