Hurting and bruised, Gail-- no, Chay-Ara stood on the roof top. After many, many unsuccessful attempts to fly she had just about it with Gail. Why aren't we flying? ANSWER ME! The nyh metal... What?

Owl-kid paced around the infirmary, feeling much less like a leaky IV drip than last night. Sanders had done a pretty decent job of patching the kid up.

"I'm gonna go check on the Owl Guy." Kai said as he stood up. The boy made some pretty great pancakes, and in such a large stack that Dee wondered how long it had taken him to make them.

"Why?" The brunette asked him, her brow raised. Kai opened her mouth to answer and she cut him off. "Stupid question. I'll come with. I want to see if they took their mask off." She followed him to the MedBay as he walked, tugging her wavy hair up in ponytail as they walked. "And no, I won't attack them. Before you ask."

"Anyone seen Gail?" Lucas wondered gruffly after they had left, looking up from his poetry book. He hadn't touched his food, and had been murmuring lines from The Raven earlier. She was acting weird yesterday... but then again I just met her... but everyone's settled in well enough.

Chris shrugged. "Everyone was tired last night. Dee and Kai fell asleep in the trophy room. And I didn't get to see my room either, I fell asleep on a couch. At least we all got to change, right?" Lucas frowned, glancing at the successor of Superman, who was wearing a dark blue t shirt over a pair of flannel patterned red pajama pants. He had noted both Kai and Dee were wearing sweats and t-shirts. Damn Millennials, he thought, almost smiling as the words sounded in the Sarge's voice.

Owl-kid began to feel... restless. He sensed something was off in the atmosphere of the group, but he couldn't put a finger on what it was. The boy shrugged, crossing the room without a noise. He tested one of the metal shelves bolted to the wall and clambered up it, sitting crosslegged up at the top. He looked down at the room, surveying the Med-Bay with interest.

Ben yawned, shrugging. "I dunno man." He said, collapsing onto the couch. "Maybe she's still asleep or somethingIdunno..." He mumbled sleepily.

"Ooh." Dee said with a smirk, leaning against the entryway of the MedBay, her hands in the pockets of her sweatpants. "An acrobat. Be careful not to break anything. Sarge gets very angry very easily. And who knows, he might be stingy too."

Kai, beside her let out a nervous squeak. "Stop! Sergeant Sanders might be able to hear you." His blue eyes wandered the room though, and at once he was interested in everything around. "Woah. This place looks great."



Lucas shrugged, going back to his book and still leaving the pancakes untouched. "Whatever. I don't really care what she does." He snapped his fingers to keep the boy from falling asleep in his food. "You literally just slept. Be glad it's Sunday."

Ben huffed in a whiny tone, "OhcomeonmanIspentallnightlisteningtosomeweirdthudsandbumpsfromupstairsandcouldn'tsleeeeeppppp.."

The Owl-kid's gaze snapped over to lock onto Dee. They tilted their head, a small crack coming from their neck as they did so. They remained where they were, silently staring them both down.

Now this made Dee snap. She put her hands on her hips, tilting her head as well. "Why the hell do you have to do that? Huh? Like, what's with the whole owl thing? Care to explain? No, because for some reason you're scared of us. I promised not to hurt you for now, and we're helping you. You can at least trust us enough to talk. I don't care about the mask anymore, but stop acting like a motherf***ing bird, bueno? Beuno." With that the girl turned and left a wide-eyed Kai with the owl kid.

"I'm so s-sorry." The blond stuttered. "I barley know her. She didn't mean to make you angry, you can just keep your mask and you don't have to talk I guess just please don't attack us or break anything because Sergeant will get angry and nobody wants that and it would be kinda scary because you mask and-" He drew in a deep breath, forcing himself to stop rambling.



"Umm. Excuse, me, repeat that? But clearer?" Lucas asked, his startled fern green eyes flickering back to Ben's face.

"Someone went bump...upstairs..." Ben muffled a yawn with his hand as Kolivan finally decided to join the others.

Owl-kid didn't respond, their gaze rested on Kai. "...ca..rt..e... v..a...?" They suddenly rasped, and then went silent again, now that Dee was gone. They clambered down from the shelf, silent like a wraith. They walked across the room and stopped a good solid ten feet away from Kai.
