She placed her tea down and followed his through the doorway.

I walk through the quiet passageways, carrying a flaming torch. We reach the stream soon enough, and you can faintly hear the roar of water crashing against rocks in the distance.
"We're here," I say, as I attach the torch to a little bracket on the wall.

"Water!" Her face lit up and she picked up the corner of her dress, running towards the sound.

I grin as she runs towards the water, happy to see another person happy. The last faces I had seen were the two that I killed, their pearly dead faces even whiter in the moonlight, their blood darker on my hands. I shake my head as I see her running, and watch carefully.

She crouched beside the water, muttered an incoherent 'thanks', and then stood back up. She closed her eyes and then jumped in.

"You're welcome," I say, as I see her jump in. I turn around, my job done. I walk over to the torch and pick it up. I start to walk away.

She felt herself relax under the water. Her feet were bound together once again by scales and she swam in the direction her head was telling her to.

I see her swim away, and walk slowly through my dark passageways. They're seemingly quieter than before, their echoes louder than I'm used to. When I reach my home, I lay in bed, trying to fall asleep. It proves worthless, and I stand up, and begin to pace my room. I hear water dripping in the corner, slowly aggravating me. When it gets to the "punch a tree" point, I slowly and deliberately search my entire house until the rhythm is broken when a drop lands on my head. I look up, and take a small piece of wax off of a nearby candle. I stick it into the crack, and sit still in the uncanny silence. I eventually doze off- but wake up to a spider on my nose. I shriek on an extremely high note, fall out of my chair, and unceremoniously hit my head on a rock, blacking out.

Tempest had changed into the new clothes he had provided her with and was sitting beside the pool of water near the waterfall. Sweet smelling plants bloomed around it and she glanced over at the nearby forest. She dipped her feet in the water, humming a little tune as she did. Small fish darted through the semi-clear water, avoiding her feet and looking like colorful gems. The halfbreed couldn't help but begin to sing, her voice carrying through the trees as she did.

I come to hearing a faint melody. As if in a trance, I stand up and walk towards the noise, not noticing the dark corridors I pass through. The song gets louder as I exit my cave system, right next to a waterfall. I faintly recognize the figure sitting with her feet in the water, but it's hard to think as the song reaches its loudest point, and I simply sit down next to her, watching her sing. My black wings stretch themselves out on the grass, seemingly of their own accord.
