Death Not yet, I flash at Cobra. I'll hide the bodies, you clean. You're coming too, Shimmer. I give Shimmer a no-arguing-or-there'll-be-more-bodies-to-hide look before leaning down to pick up Anemone, getting blood all over my talons.
Shimmer Fine, I flash, gingerly picking up Auklet.

Death Animus magic doesn't work on the dead, and I'm not planning on wasting my magic because you want a zombie pet, I flash, frowning at Cobra.
Shimmer Queen Coral will be furious, I think to myself. She won't cope well with losing two of her daughters.

Death Don't you have a brain? We can't lug them all the way to the surface and burn them! They'll be too wet for it to work anyway. And I thought you were smart once. Looking around, I grab the necklace that Auklet left on the table and quickly whisper two spells. I've duplicated the necklace, I flash, handing one to Shimmer. It should make them disappear once you put them on them. I drop the necklace over Anemone's neck, watching with satisfaction as her form dissolves and disappears. The blood won't be gone though, I add.You'll still have to clean that. I point to the cloud of dark water where the blood was.

I drape the necklace over auklet's neck, quickly dropping her as she disappears.
