"Open your eyes," Ashia said as she stayed standing. Taking a deep breath Scarlet and Ashia's breaths fell into sinc. A second later there was an illusion of the Northern Lights.


"I can't tell you that information," Justin spoke.

"Why not?" Sparky wanted to know, and was confused why he couldn't know.

Jackson gaped, amazed at the illusion. "I wanna do that!" Barnabus rumbled that it wasn't his special power, trying to explain, but Jackson didn't listen to the bear. Not that he could understand him that well.

"I just can't.''

"You won't be able to," Ashia explains, "a fox can but a bear posses other skills such as a great sense of smell or stregth. The next task will be intresting and you will get wet no matter how you do it so now is best. Barnabus would you please lead the way to where you fish?"

"Because you don't know?" Sparky was going to get his answer...because he never gave up until he had what he wanted.

Barnabus grr-ed happily, shuffling out the door, and slowly ambling over to a river, which was burbling merrily. Jackson seemed to be itching to tell his animal to go faster, but was restraining himself. He bumbled down the river a few minutes, and then sat down, looking very happy with himself. Jackson was sorta shocked the bear could remember. "Uh, yeah. Here it is."

"Good now you two are going to fish. Mainly Jackson you are going to learn how to work with Barnabus this way by fishing the way he would," Ashia instructed, "as you already can see Barnabus is very smart so I suggest learning from him too."

"Because I can't tell you because I'm not allowed to without express permition," Justin grabbed Shield's bridle, "now pest come help me reshoe Shield."

Sparky fairly glared at Justin. "Yeah, okay. I am a pest. But it was Shield who kicked at me." He huffed, and went to help.

Barnabus grinned, and splashed into the water, finding a solid rock to be his perch. "Do I have to?" Jackson complained.

"Would you rather swim,' Ashia asked as Scarlet nipped at his feet.


"You landed on him,'' Justin defended.

"And what about yesterday?" Sparky was doing his part, though.

"No, fine." He went after his bear, who growled happily. It stretched its paws, then flicked it at the water in a sweeping motion, spearing a fish on its sharp claws. "Um...The fish will jump out of my hands..."

"Focus on your bond and it should help,'' Ashia offered, "or catch the fish.''


"Grumpy horse.''

"Tomorrow?"

Jackson decided to try and focus on his bond, but felt kinda stupid doing it. At first, he could feel nothing. Then, slowly but surely, a slow sense of courage filled him. Jackson was sure he could do it. Then he reached down like his bear had and...missed a fish by inches. "Ah, that's it. I don't think i can ever do it." The feeling instantly left.
