"Would you take off your mask if you were found near a crime scene? Or let alone trust the random group of costumed super hero wannabees you wake up to trying to take your mask off?" Gail said snarkily as Chris left.

"I like this one." Lucas muttered to Dee, with an approving nod in Gail's direction. "She seems quiet, sure, but I don't think she'd let herself take crap from anyone."

"Well, I get that the kid feels threatened, but seriously. We're not gonna hurt them. Hopefully they'll warm up to us and finally decide to take that thing off." Her hazel eyes were fixed on the masked newcomer with a curious glint to them. What's the person's gender? How old are they? What do they look like? What if they're not even a human being at all?

Gail crossed her arms, calming down. "And then what?" the bird woman said, turning slowly around on her heel. "Dig around and see if they have a name? A home? Any close relatives? They sure as hell aren't trying to find out who you are." Don't they get it? The kid might use this as an opportunity to find out who we are by making a deal with the weakest link in our team.

"Bird lady is angry." Dee whispered to Lucas out the side of her mouth. She tried to stay serious, but there was a twinkle in her eyes as she wrapped a strand of dark brown hair around her finger, something she did when she was thinking.

"Cause?" Lucas asked, the same glint in his eyes as he fought away the smile twitching on his lips.

Deanne grinned. "Must be that time of the month," she replied cheekily, before turning and sprinting down the hall at a surprisingly fast pace. Lucas, who was still shocked by the reply, nearly tripped as he tried to follow the small girl.

Oh thats it. Gail cracked her knuckles, "Oh no you f***ing didn't." She growled, but couldn't help a smug grin break her serious expression. She sprinted after them, "You can run but you can't hide!" She choked down a cackle.

"I can't run either!" Lucas shouted back to her, actually laughing for the first time in... how long? A week? A month? He couldn't remember. He couldn't see Deanne anywhere and soon gave up, falling to the floor and openly giggling now, holding his sides.

Gail nearly tripped trying to stop her running. She breathed heavily, her wings sagging. "Why-- the-- hell-- who-- the-- hell-- thought it was a-- good idea to-- make armor-- so ****** h-heavy." She wheezed.

"Sucker." He replied from a few feet away, where he was slumped against the wall as well. He was still smiling but the laughing had died down, and his eyes were closed. "And you guys made fun of me for the Spandex."

"Hah--hah." Gail rolled her eyes, smiling. "At least It's better than latex, uh, Luke..?" She said in a completely serious tone.

Meanwhile Sanders had taken over in leading Owl-kid to the med bay while Gail had gone off to chase Dee and Luke.

At that his green eyes snapped open and he coughed, turning his head to face her, his dark hair fluffing up against the wall from the sudden movement. "What the hell did you just call me?"
