"No problem. Eh, by the way, what's your name?" I ask, picking up my cup and stirring it a bit.

"Right. I never told you." She said. "Tempest. What's yours?"

"Hruska, but people used to call me Thrush." I inwardly facepalm at the using of past tense, but it's too late now. Hopefully, she won't suspect me of what I've done.

"Used to," she commented, nodding slowly.

"Y-yeah. The rest of the halfbreeds tried to escape the humans through a tunnel through the mountain, but were all captured. I was left behind." I say, pointedly staring at my teacup instead of looking at Tempest.

She sighed, then looked down into the cup. "I used to be in the lab too. When I was little."

"I'm sorry. I never went there, but the survivors told me about it." Shoot, you told her about the survivors. Now she's going to ask about them. Get ready to lie, Thrush

"Survivors? Of what?"

"The attack from the humans. They caught everyone because the two survivors gave them away to keep themselves alive." I say, taking a sip of my tea. The perfect temperature.

Tempest felt herself grimace. Who would do such a thing? "That's terrible..." Mimicking him, she held the cup to her lips and took a small sip.
