Ok, thanks for the answer, Krin, but I have to let you know how frustrating it is to us non-strategic people... I have gotten to a certain level, and I doubt if I can get much higher. Losing 3 or 4 out of 6 matches.... yeah..

Try not to let it bother you too much! I literally tried my hardest to make the AI challenging as it scales up. If asked, I would definitely say that losing is intended to be part of the game.
But I'll think of some alternatives and try and code in a solution overnight to make it easier for those who just want to play on the lower Tiers for easy wins. =)

Also, GoldGryphon, your record is pretty good if you ask me! Some of those on the leaderboard atm only have a winning percentage of about 60%.

Thanks again, Krin, it is a well made game! I do realize that losing is part of any game. My thoughts are that, we all don't think alike (believe me, my husband is a very strategic man, and I am more of a rpg puzzle person), so everyone reaches their level that they can win and are basically stagnant at that point.... I am there right now. My thoughts are, people who don't care about moving up the ranks and are just looking to score an egg; would greatly appreciate a way to work for one.
Btw, I really love that I can play Snow Wars easily on my iPad!

Thanks for the thoughtful reply, Krin.
I am on 2091, so I guess I am facing Tier 4 opponents. I have won a few matches since posting, somewhat against the odds, without boosts. I just can't keep up with 7 or 8 boosts a round like the AI opponents; the booster packs are too hard to get hold of :) Of course I expect to lose some rounds and expect to lose more at this higher level. I am really pleased with the supplies and avi items I have won.
It is, without a doubt, the griffi that has made the most significant difference. I am not competitive enough to want to rate in the top 10, and I have bought and/or traded for the essences I wanted, so do not really need the prizes. However, I do 'need' that Guardian Angel Griffi, or at least as fair a chance of getting it as people who are on lower levels than I am :) I know it is random but if you are able to win most of your games then I am sure that your chances of winning a griffi egg must be higher than if you are only winning one in every three or four games.
Your possible solution sounds great to me but I know absolutely nothing about coding and the work that may be involved. I shall wait patiently to hear what you decide.

Yeah, I will say I don't have an issue with facing AI itself that is very hard, but it's having to face 3-4 GOLD boosted troops at a time where I've been getting very frustrated lately. The second I hit the tier of 1800+, it's just random if I am going to win or lose a match. If the AI has all epic+, I would rather hit a forfeit button at the start because I know it is impossible to win without using boosted troops yourself. Only when it's maybe 1 gold boosted, 1-3 epic boosted, and the rest either rare boosted or unboosted where I have a fighting chance against the AI. I don't know if there's any workaround, but feeling like I'm being forced to use boosters to win as a heavily unavoidable paywall is very....frustrating. To know that there's another tier above, I can guarantee that it will be impossible to win unless using booster cards, because I doubt there will be the rare game where the AI is using troops that are below epic boosted.
Edit: An example of how it's unavoidable I am going to use here to illustrate is the cavalry versus a cannon. Using my regular cavalry, it loses in a one-on-one versus a gold boosted cannon. I hit the cannon twice and it was not even below half health, while the cannon was taking half of my cavalry's health with each hit. For a troop that is supposed to be strong against another, this seems very much a ridiculous buff in terms of how much health and damage boost a gold-boosted troop receives.

The system is far from perfect, I'd be the first to admit that.
As I've said a few places, this feature is the first of its kind. So there's a ton of things about its mechanics that definitely can and will be improved going forward.
Boosters were intended to be a way for the feature to make some income for the Site, as this feature probably took about 100 hours of coding of my time plus the cost of all of the assets. However, Boosters are also available without paying anything so it's not a complete paywall.
I do think that if I add in the ability to select the Tier you wish to face for rewards it will fix a lot of issues. It will allow players to "farm" Boosters and then when they feel ready, do an AI match for rating and use those collected Boosters.
All in all though, just remember that this is a feature for having fun. Don't let it get you frustrated. I made the harder AI Tiers as challenging as I could code because otherwise, you could always win. Tier 6 is literally advertised as "Impossible" lol. Losing is part of the game and that's why you still earn rewards for losing. You basically are guaranteed free Winter Festival stuff just for spending 5-10 minutes of your time.
Think of winning as a bonus, not necessarily the goal. The goal is to just have fun, be challenged, and get some free stuff.
But I will be looking into adding the ability to select a specific difficulty just for rewards. This should solve most of the issues at hand I believe.
