Raja & Rikki- Alpha and beta-PP




Raja

Raja growled low but ended with a small shake of his head. His sister had run off again, he guessed it was a bit much with the howling. Sighing the black alpha trotted away from the scent trail that was his sister. He needed to focus on the territory right now and he knew Rikki was strong enough to take care of herself. She was his beta for a reason, being the second in command and a peace keeper she had to be tough. She was often the one scaring off any potential threats to their claimed land, mostly coyotes and the like...He began in the opposite direction of the mountains. For that was where the twolegs tended to come from. He began marking the territory and observing all the types of prey. They mainly ignored him as he didn't disturb them, he just wanted to make sure the numbers were good an no one had recently messed with them. For it was often the prey that would alert him to trespassers .





Rikki


With the wind blowing against her Rikki simply lay in the shade of a tree. Aside from their chosen base camp the plains didn't not have a abundance of trees. They were dotted here and there but the grass truly ruled, even rocks weren't that plentiful. Rikki was still proud she found the spot. It was unique for it was the largest clustering of trees and large rocks she had found yet. There was still plenty more land to explore but Raja refused her plea, the pack wasn't large enough yet. They were already patrolling and marking their area usually cared for by ten wolves. Raja didn't want her to get into a situation she couldn't handle. Which he often referred to her exploring for she normally always claimed her explored areas unless they were inhabited by something the two wolves just did not want to mess with.
Yawning Rikki noticed the sun was heading higher in the sky. She wanted to explore more but she tended to be lazy in the hot afternoon sun. However, Raja could come looking for her at any time. Which meant her unexplored area still needed uncovered. Sighing Rikki got up and shook out her white coat, she did not like dirty fur. Then with no thought and only instinct she headed straight,even closer to the mountains. She knew wolves lived there but she wasn't going to go that much farther before she turned in another direction. She just wanted an adventure and exploring was always adventurous, especially if she found something she could bring back to Raja.

Andraste / Female / 4years / Stray / Current location: SM

She stared at him for a long time. Trying to decide if he could be trusted or not. Something deep inside of her told her that he could be trusted. He did not attack, he had no tention in his body proving otherwise. Her brain however was still locked in fear and hadnt really unlocked the "move forward" ability just yet. Fear took over once again but not as bad as earlier, the shaking did not apear this time. "You say that you gain nothing from harming me, and offer me to rest with you. And what do you have to gain from that?"she pointed out. He had nothing to gain from that. However he could wery well be one of those males father used to talk about. Luring females to their territory, and their pack with the promiss of a safe rest, and then trapping them there. Just the thought made her shrug in fear. She looked back knowing werry well that if he just pushed her gently she would fall to a sertain death. If not imidiet then slow and painfull. The darkbrown eyes looked back to the male once more, calmer by the second but trusting? Doubtfull rather.

As the sent of the female got stronger something inside of him took controll. It told him to go investigate. If she wasnt alone then he would run before they were close enough to pose a threat, With his stamina there is no way to be caught up. The neat and thin wolf trotted towards the sent and after a few meters went up to galopping. Once he finaly saw the wolf he stoped dead in his track. Wow ... a white/grey wolf? He had honestly never seen such a pale wolf before. Carefully he gave upp a soft sound before he directed his ears towards the female. His fur is a lot shorter than hers seems. If that is her summercoat then he cant possibly imagine how thick the wintercoat must be. His nose working full time trying to make sure she was alone and not in company of someone. But he didnt smell anyone else. Specially not a male so he decided to take a risk. Carefully he walked towards her with his long thin legs, winnng lots of ground for each step.

Rikki froze, every muscle in her body tense up as she saw the male. Her lips pulling back as a low snarl slipped past her throat. However she remained where she was for she was a wolf that obeyed the rules. This land was not yet part of pack territory so she has no right. Attacking for no reason went against her morals. So instead she stood straight, back stiff as her hind legs bunched up, ready to leap at a moments notice. For it was not over her head to notice she was indeed in heat. She may not be calling any males to her from howls to indicate she was looking for a mate. However she knew her scent alone was enough to attract any males in a area. Narrowing her eyes at the slender male she snorted and then continued to snarl. This was only her second heat but she had already met a rouge male before during her first ever heat and like now she had left Raja. She was weary for the scars of the last male that had wanted a mate still marked her body, hidden beneath her thick white coat. Rikki was too stubborn to back down and leave like most wolves. For she had the blood of a alpha even if she had decided to be beta. So she could only hope she intimidated the wolf enough her left, or she could scare him by hurting him just enough to teach him to keep his distance. She really was not sure what to do, because the last male was dead. Rikki really did not feel like killing another wolf unless necessary. It just left a bad taste in her mouth, for she was the peace keeper and if she couldn't solve a problem with the least amount of blood shed what kind of beta was she. Flattening her ears against her head Rikki saw that it was very much later than she had first thought, Raja had usually found her by now. Did her brother really finally give her the space she craved when she desperately didn't want it. "What are you doing here rouge...This isn't your territory." Oh please do not be smart enough to know it isn't mine either...Her thought blurred all into one, making her dizzy and she barely caught herself from wavering on her feet. He didn't look that confidant did he? Rikki stared hard at the red-ish wolf as she began a steady stream of growling.

As the female begun to snarl he quickly stoped staring at her. Even for him it was clear that she did not desire his company. He could just as well have been a two leged person it seemed. Her entire posture screamed hostility so he just stood still staring at her. No matter how he tried to justify his pressence near her he couldnt rally find any. He had just been coming by instinkt really. And it was clear that she did not desire to go along with her instinkts. She looked proud and strong, even stronger than he is or might ever become. Somewhat unsertain of what to do. A long while all that could be heared between them was her growling. But once she broke it, by asking a simple question he found himself without a answer. He moved his ears a bit as he tried to decide what to asnwer. But not many moments were given before she started to growl againt. Carefully he backed a step and looked at her. "im looking for a home and this is the way im taking to find it" he said after a while. Wishing deeply she did not desire to make him into nothing more but thin strips of meat he backed a step again. "If you do have a mate I wont bother you, I doubt I would even survive you even less a mate of yours."he said bluntly and yawned a bit before he shaked his head. After looking at her for a while again he sighed. "Well if you exuse me then you seem to be in no mood to be even near me. So I will get going trying to find something of my own"he said in a honest voice before he begun to walk. He walked diagonly towards her, against her left side. He would have to cross the land to come to untouched and unclaimed land. Evry land he had seen so far had been taken already from the way he had been coming.

Raja had circled backed and tracked Rikki' s scent after a while. He had come upon her just in time to see the basic stare down. Shaking his head Raja jumped out of the tall grass that had been concealing him. Rikki stiffened even more than before and glared daggers at her brother for he was not following her example. His body language screamed calm and cool. "Hey, there isn't much beyond here but bear and two leg territory. If you'd like you may join us...If your helpful enough that is." Slowly Raja looked to his sister with his head held high and a dark look in his golden gaze. Rikki snarled at him and bounded off towards camp, clearly not liking the conversation. Looking back to the red male Raja scratched at his black ears while calmly saying "You shouldn't worry about my sister Rikki, she is without a mate and also my beta. Doesn't like change is all, others remind her of her desires and her deep need for peace, our lives haven't been all that good." Getting up Raja stretched and looked patiently at the stray wolf.

As the male jumped out of the tall grass he dashed a few meters to the side, not having noticed the male beeing so close startled him, heck it would startle anyone having a unknown male so close by. Specially someone who looks like he is twice his weight and atleast threetimes as strong. Taking a few deep breaths to calm down. As the male spoke up he pointed his ears towards him, giving his complete atention to the male. So its only bear terretory and two legs? Humming a bit while thinking he looked up at him. "I honestly have no intent of joining a pack, Id much rather lead my own. And since it doesnt sound like a good place ahead I think I will have to go the other way to find a place of my own. I have no intentions what so ever to fight with you, I would only end up losig and waste energy. However I will need to pass through yoou lands to do so" he said straight to he point. Just as blunt and straightforward as always. He looked at the male with a head hold high, something that might come of as ofensive and cocky. He didnt mean any of those, he just had the bad luck of coming of as cocky and rude at times.

Raja snorted and narrowed his eyes a bit. He assessed the wolf with his golden gaze, then gave a small shrug. "If you think you can Handle it go on ahead, but I have to say this is pretty much the best spot my sister and I have traveled and very few wolves travel this way so I hope you enjoy your one wolf pack." Raja thought his voice sounded exceptionally gravelly today. As he got up and began walking away he paused to turn his head. "Be cautious what you do for every thing isn't always what it appears first glance, bad or good." With those words Raja disappeared into the long grass weaving easily until he saw the long white fur of her sisters back. As he thought she hadn't gone far and was watching, she bared her teeth when she saw him. " You'll just have a stray dog running in our territory!" Her anger was fierce even as she whispered the words. Raja sighed and lay next to his sister. " You must not be so paranoid, not every wolf is like scar who brought the humans into our old pack. Besides why are you turning down the opportunity to meet another wolf?" Sure the alpha knew a mate wouldn't just pop up and that's that but he could at least hope a friendship formed to strengthen everyone's lives. Shaking his head he got up but was surprised when she did too. Giving her a questioning look Rikki shook her head. "I may be able to forget and forgive about the past but I'm still beta, I'll follow the wolf until he is out of our territory." Whit that her white coat disappeared as she dashed off once again. Raja just hoped she was willing to watch the wolf with more than the eyes of a beta as he turned back to finish marking the territory.

As the male glared towards him he raised his head sightly more, trying to puff up his fur to look bigger, hoever his thin and short coat didnt make much diference standing up or laying down. "THank you for the advise" he said as the wolf disapeared from his sight. He gazed after the male a loong time. However unsure of what to do he cirkled around a bit. He looked towards the place he was heading before he had meet the two wolves. After thinking a while he turned towards the south before starting to trott. His head held low and relaxed. His steps were as always long and put a lot of ground under him really fast. So if the northernlands arnt any good then he will try the south. Easy as that, with ears pointing forward and a atentive look he found his way through the plains. For now all he have to do is cross the two wolf packs terretory and its free to claim. Atleast as he understood it.

After several houers without even showing any sign of getting tired he suddendly stoped. His long ears moved for a sound before he looked around, moving slightly to the west just to find a small watersource hardly visable ... it wasnt a big source of water but it is water. after a quick drink he simply begun to move again, holding the same pace as before the stop he had just done. TH only thing he know that he can beat most wolves at is stamina. His stamina can have him going long after most wolves will fall down, wishing only to rest and nothing more.
