They throw in a leaf and press their hands together like they're praying, waiting for their mother's voice.
"Hello Guru." A female voice crooned. "Hello mother, can you keep the evils away from my camp site please?" They look up at the beautiful woman, stading in the fire. "Of course honey!" She makes a sweeping motion with her hand and disappears, leaving a sense of peace. The Watcher crawls into the tent and lays awkwardly beside Mari, trying not to make her feel awkward.

Mari had fallen asleep and was still curled in a small ball. She felt The Watcher's presence and slowly uncurled from her ball, by midnight she was laying normally.

The Watcher fell asleep after awhile. Their robes became silky and smooth, like someone washed and dried them without taking them off of it. Their hood tugged itself down to its top lip and the leaves and mud on its clothing and shoes disappeared.

Mari woke up in the early morning and looked around, a bit panicked. She saw The Watcher and she calmed down a little. She crammed herself in the corner of the tent and stayed there, waiting for The Watcher to wake, so she wouldn't be alone.

The Watcher woke and stretched, yawning. They saw Mari in the corner. "Good morning." They said sleepily.

"It was Alexa Juby! Y'know, the *Inner Joke we both know* girl?" She gave Sylvester a smooch on the cheek. "You look stunning in that!"

(My god we're STILL going on Alexa Juby? Just . . . NO. This is even worse than BEENNNYYYYYYYY))


He blushed slightly but turned away so that she wouldn't see it. He pretended to straighten his perfectly straight shirt until the blush died down, then went down stairs.

She gave him a hug. 'I didn't die tonight." she said in a whisper.

"Well now, why have you said that? Is it because I'm the spawn of the grim reaper?" They frowned. "Or because you don't trust me..."

"I trust you! And you are a wonderful person, thing...." she said trailing off. "I just hate the dark and stuff..." she said looking down, blushing.
