I discreetly look at the person from my peripheral before deciding is should introduce myself, and afterwards listen to the teacher.

Some people have the ability to sense magic, and their sensitivity to the "presence" of magic is measured by Yvet's Scale. Most learn to sense magic, but some are born with that ability. I have an especially high magical sensitivity, so it allows me to feel surrounding magic. I can also detect a hint of what magic ability or element is being used.

Kate listened carefully her tail wagging " is there a way you or Leo can teach me how to use magic and sense it?" she asked glancing at the two birds

Ill test it out by throwing pebbles on the areas. I can sense them. Remember, don't break your focus. Leo, please make some loud, distracting sounds.
Leo screeches in an off pitch manner while Tori tests the independent traps.
They're pretty strong. Now merge your traps over this area. Just imagine the water overlapping one another. I can teach you guys how to sense magic later.

Kate did as she was told blocking out Leos screeching to the best of her ability, though once she let her sphere flow towards where Tori threw the pebbles she could see an area of a different color , but she could not feel it like she could her own, and assuming that it was the blue haired girls she shakily combined her sphere with the rest

(I'm so confused.....) I finally got to the bottom of the boat and saw my new friends. They seemed to be doing magic so I slowly stepped away, not wanting to be hit

Kate's thoughts flutter for a moment, but she quickly maintains the spell moving it over Tori

Tori flutters around, but it seems that it worked. Her wings beat against invisible walls.

Kate opens her eyes and breaks concentration " Hey Tori, this magic energy... is it visible?" she had like a million questions, but this one was a bit more subject sensitive than the others

I stood away and watched. Then I felt a nudge on my hand. It was Lupus. He had this look in his eyes and do some reason I knew it he wanted me to touch foreheads with him. All of a sudden my sight changed. I was seeing from his perspective! I could see the magical energy around the room and the bonding of the souls of the Beasts and their companion. It was amazing.....

Not for all people. That's what you would call magic sensitivity. Those with senses above 5 can see magic as a tangible thing.

She block out the sound, opening her eyes a bit to make Tori completely visible and put out her hands slightly, as if pushing the magic towards her, envisioning it mixing with Kate's. She kept repeating the chant quietly, focusing, not paying attention to the questions, but envisioning a sphere around Tori.
