The figure shook their head no, and started to back up as if to leave. More blood oozed onto the pavement, and since their cloak was open, it was easy to see the bloody gash going straight across their abdomen.

"Holy sh** dudes." Ben whimpered, now hugging Kolivan's arm as well.

"You're hurt." Kai added. "Badly. We can help..." He paused to look at Sanders for approval, to see if their current guardian would actually be okay with that. "If you let us." He also threw Dee a meaningful glance and she just huffed.

Sanders nodded skeptically, holstering his gun and shaking Ben off his arm. The boy in the owl mask stood there, contemplating Kai's offer. He sheathed his sai and continued backing up at a steady pace. No way in hell am I trusting them.

"Let them leave." Dee said, peeved, before turning away from the whole scene with a sniff of contempt. "Don't force them to accept an offer that could possibly save their life."

"Ignore her." Kai pleaded. "Come on. We won't hurt you."

The boy stopped hesitantly. He tilted his head to the side like a curious dog. The female has a point. He inhaled sharply, Alright. Fine. Besides, Talon will come back for me, right? The boy's shoulders slumped as the adrenaline rush started to fade, and the buzzing rush of pain filled his senses. He edged closer to the group warily.

"Okay- so we won't touch you unless you really need it." Kai said slowly, trying to stay calm the same way he did when customers acted rowdy. "And you can tell us who you want helping you if you feel faint." I'm guessing probably not the two girls he fought, or Sanders, or angry Lucas...

They were silent, which wasn't a surprise by now. Just-- unsettling in a sense. Myself, he thought snarkily, trying his best to occupy his mind with how many of the costume clad self proclaimed heroes stood before him, and which level of peeved off they were. He smirked behind the mask, but it quickly went from smug to pained, so he stopped.

"Okay then..." Dee mumbled, dragging out the Oh sound as she walked.

"Surprise." Lucas added with a barely visible smirk. "He doesn't want to talk. What's up with that anyway?" He turned to glance at the figure following them. A good fighter though... have to respect that I guess.

"You need a good shower." Chris said. Kai silently threw his arms up in the back as if saying Why don't you guys ever shut up?!. "Like, your clothes are bloody. And we have a nice place and all. The weird vigilante we're waiting for is not here yet, so you should take his room!"

The figure slowly turned his head to look at Chris. The eyes of his white owl mask bore down on the successor of Superman with a cold glare. He kept walking, still staring through Chris for a few paces before looking ahead of him. Are they... looking for me?

"Did I say something?" Chris asked, shivering slightly after the masked figure turned back ahead. Deanne, beside him, couldn't hide an amused snort. "What?" He asked.

"You basically told him he smelled, and that we're only letting him stay because the person who we're supposed to have with us is gone." Dee said. "So take a wild guess."
