There she was. Jane. I have been looking for her for ages. She was rare and I just had to get her. Jane is this bear. She has a weird eye but her eye sight is spot on. All I had to do is pull the trigger on my gun. But when I reached for my gun, I just couldn't. I couldn't kill this sweet animal. She never did anything. She was always there when I needed her. She saved my life. So why have I been thinking of killing her. The bounty. Cash. Money. Why would I kill her for this. She was worth 10 grand. That would get me a nice hunting dog. Why would I want a dog. I am sharp for being a girl. Maybe I could have the bear as my companion. But how? It's not like a bear would like me.

There she is. But how do you talk to a bear. Its not you can I just walk up and say ' Can you travel with me?' So what could I do. I could catch her, but she wouldn't want to be friends with me then. I walk up to her and then she turns my way. I am frozen with fear. She walks my way. Still frozen. When she comes near me my fear is gone. I go near to pet her. Fur so fluffy. I don't know how she will react but I try anyways.

" Will you come with me?"

She runs far away. I don't know what I did wrong. By the time I get home, I am sad, depressed. What should I have done? It is midnight by the time I go to sleep. When I wake up, I grab my gear and I start out into the woods. It is winter and not much is here but I am thinking of climbing trees and hunting for squirrels in their dens. As I walk out I find fresh kill on my door step. I know it is Jane who did this. As the days go on this happen s again and again. I know I finally have a friend out here even if she isn't my companion, I just know she'll look out for me. I know I will always do the same for her.
