"Phew," Douglas lets out a breath then holds it again as he sees how close Kai is to the kit. He asks nervously "Kaladin has Kai ever been around kids before?"

Douglas watches as Kai sniffs the kit who gently grabs Kai. After a few seconds Kai lays down and starts washing the kit with her toungue.
Skippers walks out of his cabin and Kai faces him on her feet ready to protect the kit, "Call off your mutt Kaladin."

Kai huffs and herds the kit over to them.
The red fox kit runs to Douglas who picks her up and puts her in his lap, "Kaladin this is the kit I was telling you about."
