Locke bolted in surprise. "Ain't tha'.... inhumane?"

"I placed it where no one would get hurt plus it distracts them from chasing us," Skipper explains, "besides it's all smoke and no fire."

Locke narrowed his eyes but didn't respond.

"Locke it's a smoke flare with a little bit noise from Calico," Skipper sighs as he shakes his head, "I'm not a murderer and that gives other prisoners who we couldn't get a chase to escape."

"...Fine." Locke seemed considerably satisfied with that.

Skipper's ear twitches as something squeaks in Daria's hands. Sorrow then a wave of fear then lastly anger come over Skipper as he looks at Daria with disbelief. A slight growl escapes his throat.
"Her parents died on the journey Skipper please take mercy,'' Daria shows him the young fox kit.

Evermore had been quite....."She didn't come back did she?" she asked softly

Locke looked over at Skipper upon hearing this. "Leave tha lamb be, Skip." He simply spoke, steady gaze meeting his.

Collin's ears folded back, and he wordlessly pulled Evermore into a hug. "...."

"No she didn't Evermore," Starlight pulls them both into the hug.


"I'm just suprised," Skipper turns away from them.
"I promised her parents that I would find her a good family to raise her," Daria continues.
"You know how dangerous it is at home," Skipper walks into his cabin.
The maybe three year old fox kit trembles when Skipper is near.

Collin's quills stiffened on instinct, but he quickly noticed had them lay flat again.
