She stood there awkwardly, before giving him a small glance and running off. She was headed towards the closest lake. Once out of his area of sight she threw off her spare pair of glasses. She torn her hair out of its messy braid, which most of her hair had already come out of, and threw off her shoes. She continued throwing off her clothes until only in undergarments. She looked around after piling her stuff into a pile and waded into the lake. She whispered a few words and a rock temple appeared. She chanted something and she was turned into a mermaid like creature. She fell into the water with a splash and resurfaced, her face full of rage. Even from a distance anyone could see the scars on her back and her red wrists. She slowly swam to the temple. "MOTHER!!?" she shouted.

Aegis barely gave her a look as she ran off. Another loud crack was heard as he continued with what he was doing.

She watched as the beautiful Amara appeared. "What do you want you B*itch?!" she screeched at Mari. Mari then lost her courage. She eyed her mom's whip and sword. "Erm. Uh. I want... Er. I want you. You to erm stop being uh so er." She stuttered. She looked down at her tail fin. It was shredded, making her have to swim even harder than most. "Nothing mu- Amara." she said submissively. She ducked under water and swam to shore. She chanted something softly and she turned back into a human. Her mom's temple disappeared and she climbed out of the lake. She hopped out and pulled her skirt on. She then put on her knit wool sweater top and left her vest. She didn't want it. She walked away into the woods, shooken. Her mom was so mean and scary... Too bad her father was dead, maybe he would talk with her. She sighed as she sat down at the trunk of a tree. She heard distant smashing, and fell asleep to the semi rythmic smashing.

Running out of water, Aegis started jogging to the mansion to get more. That's when he saw the girl, asleep under the tree. He considered leaving her but cringed at the thought of it, so he picked her up and jogged to the mansion. He put her on a couch (Yet again, a couch saves the day!), grabbed a pack of water, and went back out.

(I mean how many couches does this freaking mansion have? :P You would think I should know since i "Own" it...)



Mari woke up on a couch. She gave a yawn and stretched. She got up and decided to go explore the house. She padded around silently, taking in everything. She had never seen a house quite like this before.

(Maybe it's all one couch that used a time machine to go back in time to make several versions of itself and to very conveniently place itself where people will need it, or we're all talking about one same couch that people like using :P)


After destroying about every boulder he could find, he jogged back to the mansion and went straight for the showers, not even noticing the girl wasn't on the couch anymore.

She stopped in the hallway. She leaned against the wall and stared at the picture. A beautiful girl with the most gorgeous mother next to her and a pair of floating clothes on the girls other side. Vampire and veela. She said in her head. She pushed herself off the wall and traced the girls expression with her finger. She was happy. I will never feel happy. She said in her mind glumly. She felt tears beginning to swim i her eyes and she blinked. No crying. She said. She had promised herself after her recent visit with her mom, she would never cry again. No matter what.

Aegis had completely forgotten about the girl and came out with only a towel wrapped around his lower body. He was heading straight for the kitchen and didn't notice her.

She saw him head towards a room with only a towel on. She blushed a bit before focusing on the pictures. They were all beautiful and looked professionally taken.

He came out with a plate of mini sandwiches and a small fork, then noticed the girl. He saw her looking at the pictures and sat down to eat, deciding to let her finish.
