there is a small metalic looking object in the ground. It looks humanoid, perhaps indicating that there could be a farm or something near you.

I freeze and move the pup away from the object as I don't want her getting hurt. Then I sniff the area for any traces of human

The only scents are old, it appears this object has been buried for quite some time.

Ahh yes...

Around you you can hear howling. Through it sounds a soft whimper, almost puplike.

I look around, slightly alarmed. Where was the whimpering coming from? I listen harder, trying to pinpoint the location.

I relax and then inspect the object curiously but still keep an ear/eye out on the pups

It almost seems to be coming from all around. The more you listen it seems to have a threatening air to it almost.
