Mari saw her. If the elf girl made any move to dump the girl in the river, she would be there. She slowly followed. She heard herself step on a stick and it snapped loudly. She cursed.

He brushed it out of her face. He hugged her back. "Food?" he asked as his stomach growled.

Cherokee smiled and nodded

He scooped her up bridal style and walked downstairs to the kitchen. He set her down on the table as he rummaged around for food.

Sylev ignored the snap, carrying the body to the river. Sylev sat with her legs in the water, holding Scarlett's head on her lap and singing.

She skillfully climbed a tree. Hopefully she wouldn't have to swim, she would turn into a mermaid creature if she did. Thanks mom! she though sarcastically. She looked at the girl. She was very young, yet dead. Mari felt like she must know. She hopped off the lowest branch and slowly approached the other girl, ready to bolt if it came to it. She pushed her glasses up onto her nose, as they had been slipping, and stepped out of the shadows. "Um, excuse me? Er, Miss? May I ask what happened to that... that young girl?" she said, choking on the last words, her soft voice becoming a bit raspy. She hated death, seeing it made her cry.

Sylev stealthily wiped away her tears and nodded, not turning to the new comer. "I don't know what was wrong. We were all worrying over a friend who had fallen into a coma when she just slammed a girl's head into a tree, cracking it. She was knocked out, and I knew she would try to finish the job. A cat human hybrid, Aegis, snapped her neck." She kept her voice from choking but as soon as she finished the tears started flowing again.

"um, what hybrid was she and what hybrid did she harm?" Mari asked shyly, sitting down a few feet away. She nudged her glasses up her nose. She didn't need them, but resented taking them off. If this girl was part valkyrie like Mari thought, then the other hybrid must of been a vampire or veela. The demons and valkyries have been against the other two species for years now. It was just, the little girl looked scared, like she had done something on accident she hadn't meant to do.

Sylev smiled slightly. "I think you know the answer to that."

Mari was up in a moment, her fists clenched. He glasses had slipped off her face, but she didn't care. 'Where is this son of a gun ******!?" she shouted, her face red with rage. He had killed an innocent girl for doing something she probably didn't notice until afterwards. "That prick! When I get my hands on him, oh, he is so dead!!" she screamed. Her eyes were narrowed, and she was shaking with anger. Her long hair fell over her shoulders, shining like diluted blood in the soft moonlight.
