There isn't very many trees around, and the current is fairly strong. But then you spot a fallen log, and you climb over it. Orchid growls in protest, but follows you across. You look over the edge of the canyon and see a village at the bottom, do you want to go to it or not?

Berlinda took a deep breathe and took it out, cradling whatever it was in her arms before looking down at it.

Waving Orchid over, I walk over to the stairs and decide to descend, wary of slipping and observing for anything unusual.

You walk through the snow for the rest of the night. In the morning, you are out of the forest, and walking through a valley. There are rock mountains all around you, and all you see is gray. There is not one speck of green plants.
You hear clanging, and you round a corner. There is a mine. Sylestians are working everywhere. Hauling carts of rock around with pickaxes.
Midnight sniffs at them and looks up to you.
What do you do now?

Can I try climbing the mountains? I have enough supplies. First I'll ask the miners if it's possible, however.
