Karissa shook her head to get her hair out of her face and told Dottie to go after the ambulance. "C'mon, girl. I gotta see what's gonna happen to Kota."

The men finally arrived at the hospital. Along the way they had gotten a weak pulse back. A bag of blood was connected to her arm and the large cuts were bandaged.

"She'll be ok, right?" Alia asked. "I mean, it's just blood loss and not too, too bad." In ways it wasn't too bad, but in others, it was like a pool or lake when she found Kota.

One of the men said "We hope so. We are going to put her on active suicide watch."

"I won't lose another friend today." Alia looked down at Kota. "Do you have any ideas why she has notions of suicide?" Honestly, Alia didn't know.

Kota moved her head slightly and said in a barely audible voice "I dont want to leave her alone again..."


One of the men said "has she lost anyone close to her recently? Like a boyfriend or sibling or parent?"

"...our friend Dawn was killed today." As a shock it was, Alia could take it. "Her foster father too me her parents....are dead. But that was years ago!"

The doctor narrowed his eyes "if they were just friends then why is she wearing an engagement ring?"
