Just then, there was a flash beside them, and Knuckles stood wavering when the light faded. Sonic steadied him before the echidna had a chance to collapse. "Hey, take it easy. What were you even doing up-- er, not up, over there?"

Zero swished his tail and put up an illusion of Ajal. It was one of his finer ones; the fur shifted natutally with movement, and the shadows were spot on. "And now, as Sun Tzu once put it, 'He who is prudent and lies in wait for an enemy who is not, will be victorious'." He stated.

(Yeah, I've read The Art of War. It's not very long, but it's a great read.)

Nox saw the illusion and smiled, Nice going.

Ajal helped as much as he could. I fully agree with Azul Hagin is on the top of my list.

Kini kept going.

Aether cast a glance at Cobalt. 'Hey. Coba. Can I have one of your daggers for a sec?'

Cobalt looked at him sideways. 'You're not planning to kill anybody, are you?' he asked as he tossed Aether a knife.

Indigo didn't say anything. He had a feeling about what Aether wanted to do.

"Call it a talent." Zero shrugged. "Now, we stay hidden until Hagin comes to investigate Ajal's sighting."

Sonic nodded once as he helped the only half-concious echidna inside. "Knux? You still with us?"
A moment's hesitation, then a nod.
"Good. Take it easy, don't wanna black out."
"...A-alright..."

Clik helped put him onto the couch...


Azul came back with a gallon of water and a bag of grapes

Sonic stood by attentively, ears twitching. He glanced at Azul. "You don't expect him to down that entire jug or anything, do you?"

Knuckles made no move to eat or drink. He merely kept still, clutching his forehead.

Atether no, Kini growled.

Ajal watched them with concern.

It took some time, but Knuckles eventually composed himself. "Ugh... I did what I had to." He mummbled, steadily getting to his feet. "If we're facing Hagin, I'm not risking the shards we already got a hold of. They're hidden; Hagin, Void, Infinite; they won't be able to take them." He said softly. "But I'll bet Hagin already has the last few..."
