Grinning, Hartley shakes his head, "Nah, Ace did that, though I did help take it off paper." He tucks a loose lock of hair behind his ear, eyeing the contraption appreciatively, fingers twitching like he was barely restraining himself from reaching out to touch.

Reuvan eyed Hartley's twitching fingers boredly before scooting over and setting the bow down on the grass between them. "You can fiddle with it-- Yes I know you want to." He said straightforwardly, not hiding the fact that he could feel the need to touch pouring off the other demi-god. As for Reuvans own emotions-- well there were so many people around that he couldn't really be bothered to express one emotion in particular. It was all very muddled feeling.

Hartley's grin grows wider, if that's even possible, scooping up the bow with reverential glee. He runs his fingers over everything, finding little notches from which he produces stilettos that he then inspects before replacing. The last compartment that Hartley pulls something from holds not another knife but instead a small lighter. After flicking it on and off several times, he replaces that too and hold the bow out to Reuvan, already starting to nudge the both of them closer to the edge of the clearing, "Hey, could you show me what it's like in action? I tried to get Ace to let me try it out but ah, well, I'm kinda awful with bows after I've made them-- last time I tried there was a uh, incident. But I wanna make sure we got the tension just right so I mean, makes sense to have someone who know what they're doing demonstrate and all that--"

Reuvan glanced between the woods and the clearing nervously. It would be great to go do something other than sitting around, but he wasn't sure if it was just right to disappear. Well.... he was curious to see how the new bow actually performed. The knives weren't really his thing, but it was a nice touch incase of emergency-- and if not he could always lend them to an ally if things got hairy and they lost all of their blades.

"If you really wanted someone--" Reuvan paused "--Oh right... Riley is still on a mission. Hm well I guess if this was supposed to be mine anyway..." he trailed off slowly, basically talking to himself before seeming to remember that Hartley had asked him a question.

"Uh yeah thats a good idea, that way I can let you know right away if it needs any tweaks." he said-- and it kinda sounded like he was reassuring himself. Reuvan scooped up his quiver of normal arrows before catching Roxannes eye on the way out. They shared some silent message and then he was gone, Hartley in tow.

(Sorry I was listing my OCs xD)

Hayden checked the time, nodded to himself, and proceeded to fend off several of the Apollo kids who were trying to get a look at his wrist. "I'm fine!" he protested. "Go help someone else." There wasn't really anyone else to be helped, but he ignored that fact. He walked over to an ant corpse and nudged it with his toe. "When's the game starting? We're going to destroy the Ares cabin."
"No, you're not," complained an Ares camper, and Hayden promptly ignored her.
Eira, having checked all of the ants, watched all of this with a midly bemused expression.

Following closely, Hartley trails Reuvan farther into the woods, practically bouncing in excitement. He is (with good reason) generally kept away from bows, even when he's not the one wielding them.

Ace watches them go with a slight smirk, pretending to wipe away a tear and commenting to Teddy, "They grow up so fast."
He catches Hayden checking the time and reflexively looks at his own (watch-less) wrist for the time as well.
Pushing up off where he was leaning, Ace wanders in the direction of a cluster of Ares campers. Poking Cypress on the arm, he inquires, "What d'you think the odds are that our boys will be back in time for Capture the Flag? I've got a ah, thing for Terrance to try out."

Reuvan stopped once they'd reached a decent distance from the scene of the crime. Well maybe that was a bit dramatic, but there was no doubt that it had looked like a murder scene from those crime shows. Reuvan unfortunately remembered much from his younger years-- and those droning investigation shows haunted a good part of it. He didn't miss the stale blue light from the TV that was on so often it was practically a lamp, or the crying mothers, or the black and white photos of happy teenagers that didn't survive the night. The stale musty air, matted carpet, or the uppity human baby-sitter that had been tasked with taking care of him while his father was out on business.

She had died. And Reuvan didn't know it then, but it had been a rogue monster that killed her-- apparently it had smelled him on her a mistaken her for a demi-god....

Well Reuvan never liked her anyway-- she didn't take proper care of him (was one hell of a smoker) --she wasn't even supposed to leave him alone but the night she died she was out wandering the streets (Maybe Reuvan should have been glad of that fact, if she had he'd be dead).Honestly, she only took care of him because everytime Reuvan's father came to fetch him it was another chance for her to wiggle her way into his fathers pants-- and subsequently his money.

Reuvan turned to Hartley, rocking on his heels for a moment. "Anything your specifically looking for?"

--------

Cypress gave an unimpressed look to Hayden--who was in hearing range. "Really, talking about aiding the enemy infront of your allies?" He tucked a few knives he'd been holding into different obscure spots on his person. Damn you couldn't even tell they were there now that they weren't in his hands. Out of sight out of mind as they'd say. "Besides, Chiron still has yet to say if Capture the Flag will be postponed or not because of this unlikely development."

Hayden shrugged. "Whatever. It had better not be postponed, last game was an embarrassing defeat."
Eira walked up. "So.... As head and only member of the Tyche cabin, may I suggest that I stay back? Seems like we might need some luck in the defense, I think you guys are more than capable of taking the offense, and I'm not that great with my bow, better for defense, so... you know. I can give them oodles of bad luck." She cringed mentally. Who even said 'oodles'? Her, apparently. Hopefully Hayden hadn't noticed. Or cared.

(Srry I have a butt ton of math homework)
