He opened his eyes and uncovered his face a bit as she spoke but his face was pure red and his ears red as well as he saw her. "Y-Yeah...I'm f-fine." He said softly,his heart hammering so hard he thought that it could be heard because he could hear it pounding in his ears. He wasn't aware yet that she could see the burn marks.

She looked down his body and paused at the burn marks. She was a bit hesitant to ask about them, but did anyway. " Where... Did the burn marks come from? "

He was shocked for a second and his face turned pale,all color draining from it and his eyes softening and dulling to a sad slight pink. He lowered himself a bit more into the water. "Nowhere....just...." He shook his head at his own pause. "It was...just a fire,nothing more." He said softly,but his tone sounded pained as he spoke. He never spoke of what had wiped out his family and left him all alone,the last of his family.

She was quiet for a moment, before floating up and wrapping her arms around his neck in a hug. " I'm sorry if you don't like hugs, but it seems like you needed one. "

He was still for a second before gently,but firmly,wrapping his arms around her in a responding hug,not even caring at the moment about their exposure. He just knew she was right,he needed a hug. He just never had known it before. "Thank you." He said in a quiet deep voice to her.

She smiled softly. " You're welcome. "

He stayed there,holding her in his arms,for a minute...thennnn their exposure to one another hit him and his face turned red as he looked at her then started trying to apologize. "I-i..uh,I'm s-so s-s-sorry" he said quickly,but clearly nervous now.

She separated from him slightly, floating at his height. She smiled warmly. " It's cool. I hugged you first, anyway. "

He laughed softly,then,without thinking,gently reached out a strong hand and stroked her little cheek. "Guess that's fair." He said in his normal deep tone,his throat moving smoothly with the words. His facial color had lessened to a soft blush.

She blushed and rubbed his hand with her cheek like a cat, giggling happily. If it was any other male she would scream and yell at them, but with him it was... different. A good different.
