"Few years, nothing special. Well, Antique - the pink dog- showed up a few months ago. Strange little thing reminds me of some little girl from Black River." Oliver said watching the mages from the corner of his eye. "Hmph, they better not cause trouble, or I'll stick arsenic in their food." He said casually with a hint of irritation. Brushing crumbs off the counter he sighed, "Ah who am I kidding, I gave up fighting long ago."

"You used to be a knight? What kingdom did you serve for? I didn't know they let knights retire so early." Samie blinked twice, oblivious to what else he could be. "I actually live in another town, I came here for vacation but then the inn keeper hired me to sing this week. Great vacation, am I right?"

"Ha, the old Inn Keeper spoils everybody's fun. And no, I wasn't a knight. Something... less moral and chivalrous." Oliver couldn't help but shiver at the thought of what he did.

"Oh," Samie paused looking around the inn,"Oh.." She looked back at Oliver, seeing him shiver. "Who did you work for?" she lowered her voice, Samie's father had once been mixed up in that kind of business. "When did you stop?"

Oliver lowered his voice, "An Unnamed Master Assassin, I stopped when I was forced to kill a little girl, normally it was other assassins or murderers, but the guilt wasn't worth it so I left."

i went down the support beam till i was just above the singer and bartender, i dropped in front of them smoke following me, i held my hands out to them with about 50 dollars and an apple in each hand, "here you go." i said i put the money and apple in front of them and jumped back up onto the support beam.

Samie looked at him,"So you don't know the name? I was hoping to get some action," she paused, looking towards the mages again,"The only action I ever get is when two patients want to have me the same night."

"What do you mea- oh." Oliver cut himself off from asking the question as he realized the answer was rhetorical.

Samie looked down at the bar, she would have to get back up and sing one more song soon, then she was free to leave. "Yeah, it's good pay though...I can kinda tug on people's heartstrings and make them feel strongly about things." Samie once again looked towards the mages, hoping they would see her.
