Sylver just paced around the training room, the place being completely empty. Eventually, she took out a few spears, attacking the dummies harshly as she tried to exert some of her excess energy from her excitement. She really wanted to talk to someone and express her excitement, but she didn't want to disturb anyone while they were sleeping, plus, she didn't know anyone or have any friends here.

I hear Sylric faking sleep so I walk over to him. "Sylric do you know someithing a bout this girl?"

Sylric Tassarion

My eyes snapped open. Draycil was stood behind me, so I rolled over onto my other side so that I could face her, my shoulders tense once more. To fake that I was shivering because of the cold, I pulled the sheets up, almost concealing my face.

"No... I don't know anything about them," I lied, struggling to stop myself from stuttering. My hands curled into fists, hidden from Draycil's view underneath the duvet. "What happened... sounds terrible. I can't believe that anyone would force you to do such a thing because of some sick magical experiment." I suppressed the memories, forcing through sympathy without revealing what I knew.

I wanted to tell her, but, at the same time, I simply couldn't, knowing that I would not just be telling her, but everyone in the room. And being part of a raider group... I would be arrested, perhaps even killed for my actions. Then I would not... I would not be able to save my sister from them.

"I juts wish I knew who her brother was so I could relay to him what she said."

Sylric Tassarion

I was surprised that she did not see straight through my lies. Though what she said sent a shiver down my spine.

Her brother...? Did she have a brother?

My pupils flickered this way and that, trying to recall all of the memories relating to that day. It was painful to sift through the images, Kyala's pained expression flashing up every few seconds, and I was terrified to find out the truth. Had I known her brother? What happen to him?

For a moment, I paused. A young boy, not much older, holding Kyala's hand. Was that him? Gaps in the memory; I could not have been certain of how they had been separated, or what had become of him, until I recognised the hand on his shoulder. My eyes widened momentarily, and I quickly tried to conceal my emotion once more.

No, I do not want to believe it. That cannot have been her, he cannot have been taken by her. The all the while, things seemed to fit, to merge into a cohesive story that plagued my thoughts.

With all my heart, I was hoping that that young boy had not been Kyala's brother.

"Are you okay?" I ask seeing a look of pain flash on his face.

Sylric Tassarion

"I'm..." A cough cut me off mid-sentence, one so strong that it left me winded for a moment. Not letting another force its way up my throat before I could speak, I quickly tried again with what I was trying to say. "I'm fine." My voice was more of a wheeze than audible speech, but I was certain that the message was clear.

I allowed myself to settle for a moment, not wishing to throw myself into a fit. My lungs were already struggling enough to cope. I re-positioned my head on the pillow, my eyes still matching Draycil's gaze.

"I... I should rest for a little while longer." Just thinking about everything was making my head spin uncontrollably. One of my hands reached up, and I rested it underneath my cheek.

It was him, it had to be him. I tried to reassure myself that it wasn't Kyala's brother, but my confidence in that statement was faltering. No, it definitely was him.

I get up and walk back to my bed leaving him alone.

"Alright, Draycil. We have to go to the training center to meet our horses- training starts too." Quinn got up, glancing at the door. She turned and left, not looking back to see if Draycil was following.
