(No. No it doesn't unless it's like a brotherly ship. Otherwise it's just weird. I really can't ship Knuckles with anyone other then another echidna because my brain's defualt setting is biology.)

(But the whole story of that is essentially "Honey I microwaved the baby". It's pretty silly if you ask me, and a lot of people don't even count it cannon anymore, so you can go either way.)
