"Just used my head," Zio says with a shrug waving to Barks before sitting down, not wanting to get involved.
"No. Can't," He turned away, looking very upset, "No. Book show secrets. Must not ruin plan. Responsible for important task, must not fail. If fail I show I bad. Can'g be bad Barks. Try so hard to be good Barks. Even let the mean people hurt me a long time ago. They still thought I bad Barks, but Barks tried so hard."
The vines where growing bigger, starting to wrap around anything they could reach, even if it was somebody's feet.

Riley huffs, a puff of smoke escaping with the short breath. "I don't want to do something I'll regret. And to finalize things, those people are way nicer than me. so my actions don't speak for them." He shakes the vines off and grabs the book securely. He growls and headbutts Barks, his horns a nasty thing in this situation.
Azrail squeaks and tried to pull Riley back, but Riley wasn't giving up until he had his book.
"Riley, no! We need Barks to trust us." Austyn says moodily.
"Uhuh. He can trust you and not trust me." Riley says, yanking on the book to try and get it.

"Nicer? You think anyone is nicer, everyone mean. All mean harm," He hissed yelping a bit when he got headbutted, but still holding onto the book, "Ow! Why must hurt Barks? Barks do nothing wrong. No trust. Barks trust none of you."
He stumbled backwards when Riley yanked, letting go of the book. He fell, landing on the ground. He got shakily up, eyes starting to get teary.
"Barks just try to help. Barks fix world. Barks only want to help," He started crying, the vines starting to grow insanely faster, wrapping securely around anything they could reach.

Azrail tries to calm Barks down, glaring at Riley. He reached for Barks hand, making a quick mental note on if there was any injuries he could see needed healing. 'Calm down, we really don't want to hurt you. Riley's just mean. Please let me help you.'
Riley sighs and rolls his eyes, not fighting against the vines, keeping the book securely in his arms as he waits for Barks to stop. He had done what he knew would work and it has worked. They would all come to eventually and realize that he had done what was best and helped them when they couldn't help themself.

Barks pulls away, not having any visible wounds, but lots of scars. He was still crying, though he looked a bit mad now.
"Barks only want to help. Barks is unhelpful. Barks useless. Barks no good. Barks... Barks don't deserve family," The vines where starting to grow thorns now, pointy thorns, "Why must everyone hurt Barks. Barks not want this. Barks will show them what pain is really like, Barks knows true pain."

(Gtg!)

"Are you kidding me? You are not useless. and you deserve people who love you and will treat you well. Don't say those things about yourself. Self hate isn't going to help you." Austyn says.
Azrail wishes he could help comfort Barks. Or do something. He reached for Austyn's hand and healed him from all the scratches that were coming from the thorns. He tried to help the others as well, but he was stuck and he couldn't reach them.
Riley growls and turns into a half dragon, scales appearing to help protect him from the thorns. "Seriously?"
" Hey, it's your fault, Riley. If you had just talked things through and been nice, maybe it would have turned out differently. "
"Oh, yeah. You'd rather not have the book, that's all fine. Perhaps I should give it back to Barks." Riley steams.
" No! don't do that! " Austyn says. He looks to Cherry, Azrail, Zio and Glacier for help.

Zio was chilling, the vines not wrapping around her, but might gave to do with the fact she was sitting on top of a short bookshelf.
"You say you want to help Barks but you don't. No one but Barks family wants to help. Everyone laughs at Barks pain, Barks hate it. Barks likes the pain now, Barks loves the pain. I crave it, Barks do. Barks show you how it feels to have pain like I do, like I was forced to," He watched the thorns grow longer and sharper, some starting go wrap around himself as well, but he didn't seem to care, "Barks show you!"
Cherry was kinda stuck in place, useless.
"I don't know, can't someone calm him down or something," She asked.
Glacier was freezing the vines and shattering them, but they grew back quickly. He was having trouble keeping up though he still tried.

"Aha! There you are, Barks." Destiny crows, perching on a bookshelf, taking a moment to preen her feathers before tilting her head to one side and examining the scene with bright black eyes. "I've been looking for you, Barks. It seems your hands are full so I'll wait." Her talons on her feet and hands curl around the edge of the bookshelf as she balances and waits for Bark. She could dive in there and grab Bark now, but she didn't want to intrude and have an advantage.
Riley doesn't want to use his fire powers.
Azrail is healing everyone he can, his energy slowly sapping.
Austyn was trying to calm Barks down with words.

Zio let's out a sigh, jumping down. He walked over past all the vines, none of them touching him.
"Come on Barks, they leave you for a second and everything goes to chaos. They taught you better then that," He pushed the vines away from Barks as he looked up, still crying, "Do you not remember that day Pinky lost control. You don't want that to repeat... do you?"
"You traitor. Why be nice to Barks," He growled muttering other unhearable words as Zio hugged him.
Slowly the vines sank back into the floor, leaving no trace that they had been there.
"Thanks sis. You may be traitor but still love you," Barks said with a small as Zio pulled away, a smile on his face as well, "Barks sorry. Barks only do job, need book."

"Its all good." Austyn says when Barks says sorry. 'You can have the book after we study what we need. Though I don't know what that is. I want to recruit you but not sure if the rest here will like it." Austyn says to Barks.
"He can take my place in the group of you want since you guys don't seem to appreciate my efforts. Here's the book." Riley plops the said object in Austyn's hands and heads to leave. Well, not leave leave completely, he was heading to another section of the library to read books.
Azrail went to everyone and healed those he hasn't already. The scratches on him from the thorns would have to heal naturally over time since he couldn't heal himself, but that would be fine. It's not like it was a fatal injury or anything.

Destiny waits patiently on top her bookshelf, occasionally preening herself or searching through her satchel. She wore little to no clothing, her feathers covering all of her body, except the talons. She was nice and insulated and protected because of her feathers, so there really was no need to wear clothing. Plus, clothing was a bit hard with wings and a feathered tail and all.
(Barks, Blackout, and Pinky are wanted, right? So Destiny can be hunting them for bounty?)
