"I went to school!" Sage says, feeling as she needed to defend herself a bit. "I just liked playing games a lot afterwards." she added, a litter calmer. Now she felt bad, for almost lashing out as she did. SO she looked away and set her bowl down.
When she was questioned again, she turned back with a bright sparkle in her eyes. This was her favorite question. "Well most recently, you know, before all of this happened, I was playing Dead Island: Riptide. I was like, the best game I've played in a while. The only think I didn't like was the story. The end was so angering! I just had to replay it again, but I still didn't get all of the achievements!"

Amelia took her bowl and Sebastians once they both finished. She dropped her hand on his shoulder and rubbed it gently. Sleep, she said softly, knowing he needed it, even if he was stubborn enough to go without. She patted his back before walking to the sink with their dishes. She rinsed them and began washing them with the brush and a little bit of soap.

Over her shoulder she looked at Avia. Need sleep? She wasnt sure when the last time the girl had slept was. She would be keeping watch up on the roof, but if Avia wanted to sleep she could, if she wanted to stay up, she could. It was her choice.

Jace eyes went wide when Sage got above a whisper. If she was gonna stay here she would need to be a little quieter. He didn't want to draw any unwanted attention especially from zombies. Zombies were a lot more complicated to kill then people because no matter how much you hit hem they won't die, unless you hit them in the head.

He listened for a minute and didn't hear anything. immediately Sage jumped into the question he asked her about Video games. It's been awhile since he heard someone talk to him so enthusiastically. "Have you heard of a game called Resident Evil?" he asked. It was one of the games he knew the best and was hoping she would have some say.

...........

Avia watched Amelia take the bowl from the guy who just walked in. It's like she was his maid or something. She wondered what relationship the two had especially when she came back and started rubbing his shoulder. Amelia whispered something in his ear that Avia couldn't hear the n she walked away and started washing the dishes.

Avia sat there and waited till Avia was done washing the dishes and hoped they had something for her to do. Just as she hoped Amelia finally spoke. It wasn't what Avia was expecting but at least she at least say and do something. "Um... No I'm not tired, is that alright?" She asked giving Amelia a smile. She was hoping that she was being a good house guest. These people had a lot of good things going for them and Avia didn't want to leave.

Sebastian offered her a smile when she took his dishes and nodded standing up. He used his foot to push the chair back under the table and left the room without a word. He did need sleep and he was glad that Amelia would take care of everything for him right now. They worked together covering each others back making sure what needed to be done got done, regardless of whose turn it was.

He climbed up the stairs a bit slower than his usual pace. Now that his adrenaline had died down, everything was taking its toll on him at once. He slipped out of his shoes but didnt bother undressing as he sank down into the bed. He was asleep shortly after he lied down.
--
Amelia heard Sebastian leave more than she saw it. Once she finished washing the dishes, she left them in the sink to dry. She nodded to Avias answer. Yes, it was perfectly alright for her to not be tired, perhaps better so. Come. As usual, and likely unsurprising now, her voice was a whisper. She left the stove burning, but closed the hatch. It would die down on its own.

Following Sebastian up the steps, she returned to the office rather than following him to the room he chose as his own. Her own room was a bit further down the hallway. Neither of them often slept in their bedrooms, more than comfortable to sleep on the roof while the other was taking shift, but sometimes they preferred the silence and darkness only available in a room completely their own.

Amelia headed into the office and climbed out the window, onto the roof. She expected Avia to follow, realizing a second later that she hoped the girl wasnt afraid of heights. Oh well, shed get used to the roof eventually.

((OMG O.o I would be so scared to go out a window. I would be all like, Um... You can go ahead ill be right behind you... and never follow. lol ))

Avia was happy this girl was talking to her. She stood up and followed the girl up the stairs. Again she matched every movement the girl made and tried to stay quiet. She had a new reason to stay quiet now. She din't want to wake up the guy who came home looking like dirt.

Avia followed the girl into the office and watched her climb out the window. It was ridiculous the way they transported themselves from the house to the roof. It would take a lot of upper arm strength to get up there and she didn't really have that strength. Heights never really scared her, it's whats waiting at the bottom that really freaks her out.

She put her head out the window and looked down. It was a long drop something she didn't want to experience. She turned her head so she could look up at the roof. It wasn't that long of a climb to get there. The roof kinda cuts down over the window.

Avia pulled her self out of the window to were she was kinda sitting on the ledge than stood up. It was really awkward because of the way the roof was shaped. She could only hope that by swinging her body she could get enough air to swing herself up. She pulled herself up a couple inches of the window sill and swung her body. She gained speed and was able to wrap her leg around the top of the roof.

She managed to pull the rest of her body up onto the roof and she just laid there breathing heavily. It wasn't from the exercise it was from the fear and her adrenaline still going full force. She reached over and pinched herself hard enough to draw blood. She was hoping that this was some really long messed up dream and a pinch could make it all go away but it didn't. This time her nightmare is a reality.

Coughing, Tartarus defeated enough zombies to let her through. She thought she saw the boy run to a house. She saw him just as he closed the door. She knocked on the door, hard. Apollo flew to her. Not the most obedient pet, but that bird is great anyways. The world tilted wildly in front her eyes. She shook her head. That wasn't what the chemical's reaction she surely predicted, but then, she wasn't sure of anything anymore. She was pretty sure it should wear off soon. "Anyone in that house?" She said to her eagle, smiling weakly.

... ... ...

Conner saw Tartarus run off. He felt the boy pulling his arm with big metal claws that dug into his hands. But he didn't care. He was exhausted. He saw the boy's eagle. It looked kinda like Tartarus's eagle, Apollo. "We have to run!" He shouted. He felt a big burst of energy and got his arm off the metal claws. "That way!" He cried, pointing at Sebastion and Ameila's house. He saw Tartarus there, too.

Amelia walked along the edge of the roof and glanced down all four sides of the house. There werent any zombies nearby, thankfully. For some reason, they didnt get too close to the house, or even the fence. She knew it wasnt because they were smart enough to know that some of their buddies had gotten killed for getting too close. All the same, she wasnt concerned by why and only glad that they didnt.

She listened as Avia slung herself onto the roof. With practice shed be able to get up and down as easily as Sebastian and her. They started by standing on the windowsill and hoisting themselves up onto the roof like you would onto the edge of a swimming pool. The only difference is the drop from the roof wouldnt be as comfortable as a drop back into the pool. All the same, it was nice that they had worn down the tiles on the roof. They werent quite as scratchy anymore, yet still provided a large amount of grip.

Amelia left Avia to catch her breath and calm down. Instead she knelt down next to her blankets and rolled them up. On most nights, either she or Sebastian would sleep on a pile of blankets on the roof. But, while neither of them was sleeping, there was no good reason to leave them out where it was possible to trip on them. She tied them up and set them against the vent for the fireplace so there was a lesser chance of them sliding.

All in all, as far as roofs went, theirs wasnt very steep. There were even a few places where the roof was almost horizontal. On the steeper parts of the roof, the pair had nailed extra strips of board to provide some more traction and a place to wedge their feet so they didnt slide down. Now, after a month, both were quite comfortable moving on the rooftop, and even running if necessary.

Avia heard pounding coming from below and saw that there were a horde of people banging on the door to get int. Avia jumped up and flipped herself over the roof back into the house. She knew if she didn't react fast enough these people were going to die and she couldn't live with that. She had seen to much death already

She took off storming through the house making a lot more noise then she normally would. She knew that these people could kick them all out even her. What she is doing is wrong because she didn't have permission but she couldn't just sit there and watch. She made it to the front door and slammed it open.

"Come In" I yelled and motioned everyone and bird in the house before slamming it and re closing all the locks. "What happened with you guys?" She asked her breathe heavy from adrenaline kicking back in.

Tartarus started pounding. Then, she saw sudden movement on the roof. She grabbed a windowsill and started carefully climb up, story by story. Lucky, very lucky, that she didn't fall and crash her skull wide open. She'd do it faster, if her head wasn't throbbing like crazy. She finally reached the roof. Her arms ached. And her head still throbbed. She wished she had her grappling hook, but she left it at home. But then, that thing was really weak and would break under her weight, and she already weighed about nothing! She saw Sebastion and two other girls. She crawled into a dark shadow and waited.
