It doesn't hesitate and quickly eats the mouse after killing it.
I offer it my hand again to see if it'll let me pet it.

I scratch it's ears and give it some affection "well aren't you a little sweetheart" I mumble. before remembering the mouse scratches I get up and lightly tap my thigh in an effort to get t to follow me, i would need to go clean the scratches in the river, and perhaps get a drink for both of us

The cub seems to like you and purrs at you. As stand up it follows you.

I'll go to the stream with it to a) clean the scratches and b) get some water. I also bring along my improvised saw to go and take care of those trees after I'm done

Your hands feel much better. Your friend also enjoys water with you. The trees screech as you chop off their limbs.

I cackle maniacally at the trees demise!!! and giving some attention to the cub carry the limbs back home once i've gathered enough.
