When Resa picked courage up from the old neighbour lady he looked to be in high spirits. His sores were still tender but he didn't seem too bothered by them. The old woman told her he'd been excited and restless and that caused some of his wounds to reopen so Resa had to change his bandages again. Even afterwards, back at Resa's appartment, he couldn't sit still. He wasn't well enough for the park yet but it was clear that if he didn't get out of the building soon he was going to hurt himself even more. Resa decided to take him to the library. He knew he had to behave in a quiet and calm manner at the library and it would give Resa something to do too. She packed his favourite blanket and a soft toy so he could play quietly and headed to her car.

Matt checked his watch one more time. He had to get going if he wanted to be early enough. Swinging astride Bluestar he set off at a brisk trot. Glancing about he saw the policewoman again. He watched her curiously as he passed by, before shaking his head and rounding the corner. Up ahead was the street that lead to the fancy part of town and his next appointment.

Courage was howling out the window of Resa's patrol car, excited to be going somewhere. His behaviour brought a smile to her face, she was grateful he didn't become withdrawn and afraid after what he'd been through. On the way she couldn't help but wonder at the events of the past 2 days. Esior was usually so quiet, the only things to worry about were thefts, vandalism and other small issues. Despite being bored by the usual tiny crimes she hoped there wasn't something too serious going on.
Resa spotted the detective out her window. She noticed she had passed him a few times already and was curious about what he was up to but immediately forced the question out of her mind. She was supposed to be off duty not worrying about things like this. She switched the radio to her favourite music channel and turned the volume up to drown out her thoughts.

Matt dismounted Bluestar and walked up the fancy steps. He rang the doorbell. It was almost immediately answered by a butler. He was unsure how much information the mistress had given her household and was trying to decide how to introduce himself. He was spared that when one of the body guards showed up and motioned him inside merely grunting a "He's expected" at the butler. Matt was impressed that the old man had not batted an eyelid at all of this. He was shown to a study where his client was looking over the grounds. She nodded her head. "Well met Mr. Starr. You have arrived early." Matt nodded. "I hoped to look at your stables and get an idea of the layout, before your other guests arrived. It might give me an idea on how to proceed." His client smiled at him. "Of course I'll have Jacob show you to the stables. I will send for you fifteen minutes before the guests arrive. I hope you will try to stay presentable." Matt bowed formally. "Of course. It will not take long and I will make sure I look the part when I return." The lady smiled before turning and softly clapping her hands. A footman arrived and led the way outside.

After entering the library Resa placed the blanket down next to some seats in the back and Courage immediately started wrestling his soft toy on top, growling quietly. Meanwhile, Charisma drifted to the top of a nearby bookcase and watched him. While those two settled in Resa was going through the shelves, looking for something interesting to read when she found a book that caught her eye. It was titled "Guide of Guisarme" and when she took a closer look at the cover she could make out several different weapons, including the glaive-guisarme. The same type the cloaked man in the warehouse used. Curiosity got the better of her and she brought it back to the seating area and flipped through it.

Matt looked at the pristine stable upon entrance and asked the man beside him. "How often is this stable cleaned?" The man smiled, "Everyday sir." "And when was the sylesti kidnapped". "About three days ago". Matt frowned, so much for finding fingerprints. Still he looked into the stall. There was everything a nephini could want. The only things missing were filled food and water dishes, but with the sylesti gone there was no point in doing that. Matt looked up "Tell me who usually cleans the sylesti bedding.?" The other man looked puzzled. "The stable boys, why?" Matt turned around gazing around the stable. "I will need to ask them if they found anything strange whilst doing so." It was a long shot, but it was good to cover all of your bases. "Meanwhile so you have any security cameras?" The man looked sorrowful. "We usually do, but the ones we had were damaged by whoever took the lady's nephini. We have not yet installed the new ones " Matt rubbed his chin, "Hmm do you still have the damaged ones." The man smiled, "Yes we put them in the electronics storage shed." Matt nodded to himself. "Mind if I take a look at them?"

(Aah! You scared me! Sorry for my uninteresting posts, my brain is dead. I'm going on holiday soon so maybe that will fix it.)

Resa flicked through the book until she found the section on the glaive. It said that it's an ancient weapon, mainly used to drag riders down from their sylesties but she already knew that. Still, it brought up a good question. Why did the man in the warehouse have one? It seems like a pretty odd weapon for to take into the city. She put the book back in it's place on the shelf and moved over to the computers. She was going to search for any places that might still make glaives.

(On another note, my computer just tried to correct that last word to "laxatives"...)
