Bella stepped from the cloud of spoke, straightening the cuffs of her sleeves and dusting nonexistent dust from her shoulders. Heh, and that wizard thought that he could take me! Bella whistled and a brightly orange bird flew out of the smoky haze to settle on her shoulder. "Hello, my Death Kestrel, did you see the wizard?" "Squawk! I saw his robes but <squawk> nothing else. Could your last spell have vaporized him?" "Hmmm, possible, but highly unlikely," Bella said as she adjusted her vest, "we better call in reinforcements." "Squawk! Ugh, not him," the avian groaned. Bella ignored her bird as she waved her hand and opened a portal in the air. The other side of the portal opened on a beautiful meadow with fruit trees and many playing sylesties. "Hero!" Bella called, "It's playtime!" A large black male zolnixi with golden markings came through the portal, shaking out his large moth-like wings. As the portal closed, Herodotus, the Black Moth, turned his face to his long-time friend. *What's the matter now, Bella?* he asked. "Time to hunt down a wizard, Hero. You ready?" Bella asked while she scratched the zolnixi's ear and attached a tracking spell to it. *Now and always, my friend,* Hero said as he stuck his nose in the air, opened his wings, and took off. "Let's catch us a bounty!" the bird cried as Bella activated her nascent flight spell and the two of them took off after the Black Moth.
