After encountering those surly morkkos, I'm pretty sure many of these paths will have various sylesties to mess with us. I think I'd like to go for the tunnel, because the most ferocious beastie I'll likely encounter there is a bulbori. I might be able to handle one of those? I hope?
I just don't trust that big beautiful tree, and both those paths seem like they would have lots of hazards, haha.
So through the tunnel I go!

haha. Well, I imagined it in my head and I went to the left instead of the right, so ^^ I did what my head told me to do, after weighing each risk.
