Zero eyed Cobalt, then lowered his head. "I recomend you stop working for them. It may be your downfall, as mine was."

Cobalt shrugged. 'I've had plenty of downfalls,' he said. 'Been stabbed, punched, kicked, you get it. I've just gotten craftier as a result.' He looked up to the edges of the canyon. 'Although, I do suppose I've never really done anything apart from taking jobs. They just give me a good reason to fight people.'

Zero flicked his tail and sighed. "You can be crafty, but being prudent is another story."

'I don't know,' Cobalt said, sounding defensive. 'I like to think nothing matters apart from one's own ideals.'

"Are your ideals the same as those of your employeers?" Zero asked slowly.

Cobalt shrugged. 'Probably not,' he said. 'But I'm pursuing mine. I believe that through these harder tasks, my fighting skill will improve.'

Zero flicked his tail. "You are an interesting one."

Ajal grabbed the snake and ate it.
