It was nearly four hundred years ago. Vyhrys recalled standing in front of a huge crowd of people, all cheering. His predecessor, the former High Engineer Xideus, was beside him, ancient wrinkled face smiling in pride. Xideus.... he died before the war, the lucky old rascal. This was Vyrhys' coronation, one of the high times of his life. Ah, to be young again, not knowing what trials lay ahead...

"So the stalker and the boy you were standing with were once exterminators?"

"yep but leave them alone or ill stab you in the throat especially the boy" she winked smiling jokingly a little "but thats not the point were helping the queen not questioning those other two" she pointed out paying for her stuff

Vyrhys smiled sadly, remembering the naive sense of pride he once had in his leadership. Some High Engineer he was. The flashback shifted directions again, to a couple centuries later.

"Master Vyrhys," A voice called out from outside his office. "Come in," He replied flatly. The servant entered the room, bowing and tripping a little.
"The council thinks they have found a suitable apprentice," The man said timidly, flipping a strand of dark purple hair out of his thin face.
"Really?" Vyrhys mused, tapping a pencil to his chin. "Do tell."
The servant nodded hastily. "An orphan, named Wyrynn Cyrix. Shows incredible promise in technology and architecture."
Vyrhys raised his eyebrows. "An orphan? I would have expected the child of some snooty noble after all the previous suggestions they made." He waved the servant off. "Tell them to send the kid in. Also, tell them I'm busy and not to bother me."
The servant bowed again and left.
