As you sit there pondering if they might be able to lead you place, they both stare up at you with huge puppy dog eyes. As you look down at them again one of them looks up and cocks its head to one side. They might know the way to the nearest town?
The stick flys over the balcony with Alaska diving down right behind it. Lightning Bug runs over to the edge of the balcony and places his paws up on the top of the railing, before jumping up and diving over the balcony after her.
Hmm, you look around in the dark and find there to be absolutely no dust anywhere on any of the surfaces. It's rather odd, this probably shouldn't happen. Maybe there was a reason for there being no dust or dirt down there.
Immediately after you had spoken several of the large creatures' heads snapped down to look towards you. A feathery one of dark blue and deep red colouring flapped its wings several times before crouching down and growling deeply. It cocked its head to one side and stared at you.
They still don't appear to understand anything that you had said. The blue one stared at you in confusion even going so far as to cock its head to the side.

I run over to the balcony, and look down. Lighting?? Alaska?? I was panicking slightly, looking for the two.
