Stooping to retrieve his temporarily abandoned sword, Ace surveys the damage before him. Three puddles of deadly ooze down, two still yet to be reduced to puddles. I hope I did the math right lol He sees Hayden and Roxanne flanking one of the remaining ants on the far side of the clearing and makes a gesture toward Reuvan to indicate that they should do the same with the other. Though there are surely other campers heading their way by now, they really shouldn't take the risk of waiting for further backup. Readying himself to join back in on Reuvan's mark (hey, Ace never claimed to be the strategist here, okay), he throws the teen opposite him a tight smile that was really more of a grimace, "So much for a relaxin' midmornin' stroll through the woods, eh, Buttercup?"

((there you go he said it XD))

Reuvan-
"It was hardly a relaxing stroll." I huffed. I knocked a regular arrow, too close to the ant to risk an exploding one. I tipped my head to indicate where Ace should go. "I'm going to go for an eye, maybe go for its neck or thorax. Make it a good hit."

The ant luckily didn't seem to have any sense of urgency, instead choosing to meander forward clicking its mandibles together threatening.

Then again this one was also missing a few legs, so I might have just been incapable of moving faster. I aimed carefully while Ace crept along the left. The ant swiveled around to look at Ace now that he'd gotten closer, and completely forgot about me.

I pulled the string back as far and as quickly as I could. The arrow sunk into the ants eye right up to the synthetic feathers, a darker color of green goop burst from the deep wound and the ant bucked wildly. My arm was already feeling sore. Ace quickly made work of the crazed insect, separating the head from the body in a long swing of his cutlass.

Roxanne-

I nodded along to Haydens strategy, flanking the ant in one swift movement and thrusting my sword into its thorax before it could register that I was there. I pulled back almost as hastily, flicking the corrosive acid off my blade and checking myself to see if I'd been hit somewhere. Nope. I glanced over at Hayden too... he seemed...fine. The last ant tried to move but stopped with a scream, realizing very quickly that it wasn't going anywhere with its thorax all chopped up, and that it would probably die soon aswell.

Klover-

I pushed through the treeline just in time for a monster to scream in anguish. It was almost hard to tell what it was, but after a second I recognize the hairy face and mandibles of an ant. A puddle of strange green goop sizzled and steamed a few feet from my boot. The clearing...was this a clearing before? Well it was now... The clearing was wrecked, multiple bushes were pulled up by their roots, and big holes were left from.. well I wasn't sure what. But the grass was torn up, amd a tree was laying nearby- smoking. I couldn't see anything from behind the tree from where I was- the bushy top obscured my view- but I swore I could hear Aconitum jabbering on about...something. I picked my way over (keeping a close eye on Eira too incase she tripped or anything) to where Roxanne and Hayden could be clearly seen. The former hadn't shown up for breakfast, and while this was normal for Roxanne, as her half-sibling I still worried for her. She looked fime though- minus a few red scratches.

"Wheres Reuvan?" I asked no one in particular.

Hayden swung Vasileios at the wounded ant, ducking beneath a flailing leg as he stabbed his sword into its vulnerable belly. (This battle is 75% us trying to name ant body parts). The ant collapsed with a loud thud and Hayden huffed in frustration as he struggled ro retrieve the blade from under the giant smoking insect corpse.

Eira caught sight of the last remaining ant (well, at least she hoped it was), the nothers seemed to have dealt with the others rather well. Nocking an arrow, she aimed it at the monstrous creature. She was nowhere near the skill level of the Apollo kids or even Reuvsn, but she did have luck on her side. Although it never seemed to work around Hayden.
She frowned, concentrating at aiming at the right place on the ant despite its constant movements, and released the arrow. It flew true, embedding itself in the monster's forehead. How had the arrow pierced its armor? Luck, probably. The insect rolled onto its back, legs twitching weakly.

Klover-

Klover visibly brightened. "Nice Eira!-" and a little lower she added "-He totally saw that." she glanced back at Hayden, who was trying to grab his sword while keeping him hand above the acid puddle. "Maybe."

Roxanne hadn't answered her question but Klover found out the answer soon enough as Reuvan lightly clamored [?] over the fallen tree, his boots only touching the sizzling bark once and his hand grabbing onto a branch to push himself off. He landed less smoothly, grimacing as a sharp branch scraped up across his whole calf and up the still burned area from earlier. Small pearls of blood welling along the cut. He was carrying two bows and two quivers. It was amazing he hadn't face planted over the side of that trunk and straight into a pool of acid with the combined weight.

Ace followed after him, although he took the safer route around the end of the tree. Klover wondered how long the tree had been here in the forest. The trunk was so thick it looked like you could wrap your arms around it and not have them touch. Luckily there also didn't seem to be any nymphs nearby, there would be big [er] trouble if a tree nymph had gotten killed in the skirmish.

Hayden heard a whoosh as an arrow whizzed past, piercing the last ant right smack fab in the middle of its forehead now, do ants have foreheads?. Not Reuvan, he was in the other direction. He yanked his sword out a little too hard, straining his wrist. Ow. Eira? And the Clover person, Reuvan's other half-sister. Well, guess someone had heard them.

Eira grinned as she went up to Hayden, tapping him on the shoulder. "So.... how did that happen?" she asked, slightly annoyed with herself that she hadn't thought of a wittier greeting.

Leaning against the trunk of the fallen tree, Aconitum examines the reddened skin of his left hand, flexing his fingers experimentally. He mentally shrugs and then turns his attention to his companions to survey what damage has been done to them. Mostly bruises and lighter acid burns (everyone else somehow miraculously avoided basically sticking their hands into the belly of a giant ant). Reuvan had a scrape up the side of one leg, but that was hardly anything to worry about. Ace reaches with his good hand to relieve the kid of he heavier quiver anyway; wouldn't do to win a fight only for one of them to fall over and drown in gross acidic goo, now would it? He earns a scowl for his trouble, but whatever. Suck it up, Buttercup (heh).
Noting the two newcomers, he raises an eyebrow at Reuvan, "Friends a'yours?"
