Sarge nodded, replaying the recorded message on his military issued radio. He glanced up, "Downtown Gotham."

"Yes! Do we need like outfits or something, or-"
"Did you not hear what Sergeant Sanders said? Someone dead. We were there. Might be coming towards Zeta Tubes." Kai hissed, his somewhat irrate side surfacing.
"Sarge definitely did not say all of that, but okay- we can infer."

"Not outfits, weapons and suits. Come, and hurry." Sarge hissed, moving rather fast for someone his age.
Ben panicked and rushed after their den mother, stuffing his phone in the front pocket of his hoodie. "Wait up!"

"He really is some kind of robot," Chris whispered in awe as they walked.
Deanne frowned, biting her lip as they speed walked down the hall. "I'm not excited to wear a metal outfi- I mean suit. And we never really studied Wonder Woman's weapons, so..."
"Chris wears a cape that's in a very unflattering shade of red." Lucas commented.

"Yeah, and you get the neon-green and black highlighter outfit." Kolivan retorted, his dark green eyes taking in his surrounds as they rushed past.
Ben choked down a giggle, and punched Kolivan in the arm.

"You look as if you've never seen anyone talk back to you." The brunette said to Lucas, flipping her hair over her shoulder as she looked back at him.
"They never did." Was his reply, then he paused. "No one wants to hear pity stories or whiny people."
"So you act snobbish?"
He thought for a few seconds, then replied, "No. I am snobbish, and I have been for the longest time," as if it was something he'd accepted a long time ago. He didn't elaborate, so Dee shrugged and walked a bit faster.

Sarge stopped and swiped his wrist near a scanner beside a metal door. The door slid open with a shnk, and the den mother stepped aside to let the team through. "Your suits and weapons should be in the glass cases lining the walls."

It wasn't too difficult for Deanne to notice hers. It looked freshly polished even now, the red and gold metals glinting as the lights flickered on. She rushed to her case, pulling the door open. Inside, waiting for her, was the armor, and a pair of matching metal boots. Coiled delicately and hanging from a hook on the side was a long beige rope, and a shield was on the other side. A small box on the floor was opened to reveal a sword with an intricate handle and a blade decorated with runes.
Chris stared at Superman's outfit for a good minute before he snapped out of his stupor and remembered the urgency in the Sarge's voice. He flung open the door, and the only things there were the suit, emblazoned with the S that represented the fallen leader of the League, and a rich red cape. He awkwardly held the costume up as Dee sprinted towards a bathroom to change.
Lucas rolled his eyes, and didn't even bother walking into a random room. The only thing inside his case was a green and silver ring, and he slipped it onto his finger. At first nothing happened, and his green eyes spotted a small inscription in the case. Lucas' eyes narrowed and he whispered the words to himself, confused. "In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, beware my power... Green Lantern's light... ummm what the hell did he write poetry or-" The costume flickered onto his body and he nearly fell backwards.
By the time Dee had staggered out of the bathroom in the unusually short-skirted armor, Kai had gained the courage and will to open his case. The costume in it was already intimidating enough, and the trident was there alongside it. He pulled the suit out, going to the bathroom which Deanne had just left. "Fun," he muttered to himself sarcastically.
Chris had finished changing, not bothering to move his clothes from where they were tossed around on the ground. "Let's go!" He shouted, pumping his fist into the air. Deanne inspected the golden "Bracelets of Submission" and deadly looking "Sword of Athena"- their names according to the plaque in the case. Meanwhile behind them, Lucas was freaking out as random objects appeared and disappeared in the air, each a bright holographic green.

Kolivan stood before the practically bare case. The only thing inside was two red hoops in a crossed x shape. He narrowed his viridian eyes and slipped it over his head. Instantly the alien material morphed into a suit over top his tank top and jeans. "Oh."
Ben gingerly fingered the special material of his suit before snapping out of it. Those people need us! He sped into a random room and shut the door hard enough to send dust motes spiraling into the stale air. In a flash (wink wonk ;] ) he had finished changing and was ready for battle.
Gail groaned, "Seriously?" She held the scanty armor up to her chest. "They call this armor?" With an annoyed sigh she charged into a closet and changed-- mostly. She had left her shirt on beneath her chest armor. The bird woman stepped out of the closet, her wings rigid and folded as if they were as fake as the original's. The hawk priestess reached into her case and grabbed the nyh metal belt and mace. She brandished it with a smirk. "Let's go kick some villain a**."

"Who designs the women's armor?" Deanne wondered even after Gail had said her 'let's spring into battle' phrase. She tugged on the royal blue leather skirt, her hazel eyes narrowed. She glanced at the other girl. "At least you got pants."
"Okay it's raining outside so I feel bad for you guys." Kai said sympathetically as he entered the room again, then back at the door from which they had entered. "Alright-" Deep breath. "Let's go."
