Just as victory seemed near, like it would die, something odd happened. The beast froze in place, and started to melt. The draconi family, Aoi, and a few others backed off. But many of the animals that remained on and attacking it started to get caught in the melty goop. They got absorbed in, and the beast got bigger slowly. Aoi covered her mouth with her hands. A good eighth or more of the army was killed, and absorbed into the beast. It grew stronger.

"N-No! It's just using more of them!"

A member of the army speaks up.

"Commander, Why don't we just use long distance attacks?"

"Not everyone can use long distance attacks! Only fire breathing animals and archers can do that for the most part!!"

Panic sweeps across the army, as a horrifying groan comes from the beast.

Meanwhile with Lilli...

"I can hardly...walk...longer...."

"l-lilli, I feel rea-lly il-l..."

"We are so close...Yanjun...We just...Can't stop."

Lilli and Yanjun are almost at the center of the forest. But they are starting to feel weak and exaughsted. The only thing keeping them awake is the fact that if they fall unconscious, they'll be defenseless and quickly killed. Lilli can hardly walk, and even though yanjun was being carried int he cold forest, he was panting. Things weren't looking good...But they just had to keep going. It wasn't much longer.

Coleen chuckled. *we got long range covered.* she backed up, raised a claw, and roared, *FIRE!!!* and crazy amounts of futuristic stuff shot at the thing. Pyrus roared, and his skin rippled as a evolution overtook him.

He shed his scales, gaining new ones that were like a wall of armor. His Spinosuarus spine split, making large bat wings. And his arms grew, making legs with powerful talons.

Pyrus rapid evolved into a dragon.

Pyrus roared and took flight, testing his new abilities. Then he opened his maw at the creature, and a bolt of fire shot from it, engulfing it and blowing up nearby rockets from rocket launchers.

The beast seemed to not take damage. It just continued to roar. Then it slammed it's arm down on a horde of animals, and absorbed the too.

"Ghh! It's no use! It just keeps absorbing our army!!"

Meanwhile with Lilli.

After she had just started to get used to the intensity of the waves, a harsh one came straight at her.

"W..e...are...s..o..clo..se.."

She collapsed, but then the wave dimmed down. As she got up, she saw something strange. There were clusters and clusters of black orbs. Some seemed to be creating the black vines, some were injecting dark magic into the roots of the remaining healthy trees in the forest, and some were pulsing. Suddenly, a few more orbs grew in.

"Yanjun! Wake up! I think we found the source!"

As the army became absorbed, the warriors from the future flickered out. Coleen looked at Aoi, pain in her eyes. *we gotta get out of here, or the past will destroy the future that destroys the past.* Pyrus translated, *i think that means were all gonna die if we dont go!*

Suddenly a mass of shadowy creatures flooded over the wall. Felix ran for the garden shouting at the top of his voice. "Everyone stay together". He began emitting a shrill whistle as an alarm to the other denizens of the garden. Once he reached the birdbath in the center a he reached around and pressed a button to warn the master of trouble. Then he whirled to face to foe. He picked up a small shovel, the only weapon avaliable, and stood ready. Small blasts of magic shot from the fairies barely slowed the advance. The shadowy figures coalesced into bigger ones. A step before the shadows physically engaged another larger bright bolt of magic blasted across the garden. This was followed by a bolt of lightning and another of fire. The master had arrived. The powerfull wizard spells lit up the sky for miles beyond Eastwood.

(Ye, I decided to theme it after autumn.)

Aoi tearfully agreed. She made a signal at the remaining half of the original army. "Retreat!! Try and get to the mainland! It may be safe!"

Just as all hope seemed loss, a horrible scream echoed from the beast. An entire arm fell off into the ocean.

"H-Huh? What's going on?"

In the area that the arm fell off, a beam of light emerged. Sparkles of light fell onto the island. Some animals felt propelled to go near them. The sparkles seemed to begin to morph into the shape of some of the mystic island animals. A giant hole appeared in the beast's chest. Then another arm came off. And then, It collapsed. Beams of light emerged from the sea as an explosion of the sparkles came onto the island. Aoi picked up the slightly beaten spellbook and flipped a few pages.

"A-ah! I know what's going on! When it's limbs disconnect from it, it gives freedom to the soldiers it devoured. Though they have to reform to original size! They are all alive! And they get to see their family!! But, how did the beast die? We were just running off..."

Meanwhile with Lilli.

"These orbs control the darkness. I'm so glad I brought this staff."

She points the staff at an orb, and whispers a spell. The staff starts to absorb the darkness. A hole appears in the orb. Then a flash of light appears. The staff gets darker. She continues to do it. She tries to destroy all of them, but the staff turned pitch black after just 3 were destroyed, and couldn't absorb more. But as she walked off, a few more orbs exploded into light. The rest were weakened.

As she walks out back to the manor, she notices that while the forcefield surrounding deadman forest and grey town was gone, the vines seemed to have become mere strings. There were less undead roaming around then usual.

Yanjun twitches his ears. "Lilli? Do you think I should make a portal to the kids?"

Pyrus smiled, then suddenly roared as pain and exhaustion registered. He collasped, Shifted to human, and began convulsion, gasping. Coleen ran over, and looked at Aoi in fear. *we need to get to Lilli NOW.* she held up her hand, and it was see-through, but not gone. *if Pyrus doesnt get help soon, he will die. And Ill fade away. Permanently.*

Aoi frowns. She picks up the spell book, and said a spell to get them back to Lilli. She gripped Pyrus' arm, and finished the spell.

They all warp to Lilli, and Lilli see's their scrapes, and Pyrus being extremely tired. She takes the spellbook from Aoi, looks at her staff, and says a spell. The darkness in the staff becomes healing energy. She fires a beam of the healing magic at Pyrus. Pyrus wakes, and his wounds heal. The force emitted from the spell heals up some wounds of Aoi and Coleen to. She leads them inside, and brings them near a fireplace. She hands them drinks and very well made meals.

"Tell me all about what happened."

Aoi tells Lilli the whole story. When she gets up to the part where the monster died randomly, Lilli gasped, then smiled.

"I think that was me." she giggled.

Lilli tells them what happened in deadman forest. Then, after everyone finishes the meals, She leads Aoi and Pyrus to their rooms, and gives Coleen a room.

"You should all get rest. And I should to. We all had quite the day."
